Just started watching the Recruit, a new lawyer started working at the CIA, loving it so far, feels like the Jack Ryan series
Feels like an eternity since we watched it.

May even have to give it another viewing before S2 drops early next year.

Is it time to do a best of 2024 tv thread?

Shogun
Fallout
Penguin
Say Nothing
Ripley - I was captured
Kaos
Only Murders In The Building - S4

People raved about Mr and Mrs Smith and Agatha All Along but they were competently made tv that just missed the mark for me. I felt glad the end had arrived

And to be fair I dont watch much - unless its back catalogue stuff

But I would check the thread

Three Body Problem
The Day of the Jackal
Slow Horses S4
The Gentlemen
Boy Swallows Universe

I just bought and watched the entire Police Squad TV series Blu-Ray in one day (today)

I ordered it from Amazon Prime UK.

It was/is a Naked Gun Prequel and absolutely funny as *

It's top notch entertainment/comedy, essential for any fans of the legendary Leslie Nielsen. Only 6 episodes, but each episode a gem.

Also I finally know where the Simpsons got one of their most famous and most quoted scenes from (involving McGarnacle)

Literally just recited the McGarnacle scene to Mrs VG just before.

Classic

Shogun, Fallout and The Penguin were top notch. I felt that Kaos missed something for mine, couldn’t quite put my finger on it.
I’ve only watched one episode of OMITB S4, but I’ve loved every season thus far so I’m guessing it’s more of the same?

The Bear?
Three Body Problem
The Day of the Jackal
Slow Horses S4
The Gentlemen
Boy Swallows Universe
The Gentleman and Boy Swallows Universe were great.

I’m yet to see the others (I’ve never seen Slow Horses but have seen it mentioned numerous times here previously. I’m guessing it’s a Stan or Apple TV sitch as I’ve never come across it?)

Hey I am trying to watch my lunch here.

It's amazing how the Simpsons have the power to enrich and make many previous pop culture TV shows and movies more hilarious.

For instance, I couldn't stop laughing watching Cape Fear (with Robert De Niro) for the first time without laughing constantly cause of that brilliant episode with Sideshow Bob (Cape Feare, maybe the best Simpsons episode ever)

Great movie

Apple TV. British spy drama starring Gary Oldman.

Highly recommend reading the books first to get into the vibe. Mick Herron is the author. You won’t be sorry.

Juror #2 - Late period director Clint is a pretty interesting case study. Some mixed results, but they all fall under 'better than you thought they'd be'. Juror #2 is perhaps the best of them all, and might even make my own top 10. Kind of amazed at how this is always pitched at the right frequency. Gets all the right performances and builds to an emotionally rich ending. 94 years old and he still had a fastball left. 8/10

Wicked - Perhaps needed familiarity with the source material to really enjoy it. Cynthia and Ariana are a really interesting pairing, and the film works best when its focused on their relationship. Loses steam everywhere else. Don't have much of a history with Jon M. Chu but why this was filmed next to the Sun I'll never know.

Has anyone seen Cross ?

It's a series about a young Alex cross a character Morgan Freeman played in some movies.
Yes, it's... fine. If you liked Reacher or Terminal List, no reason you wouldn't like this. It leans a bit heavy on tropes and the ending gets a bit silly but I breezed through it in a week and didn't hate it. The performances hold it together.

Yep, bit of a poor man's Bosch/Luther type thing. Been done to death, but had a few interesting ideas.

Is anyone watching “Teacup”?

Thoughts?

Could it be a filler for “From”?
I watched it and thought it was ok. A 6-7/10 type show.

It's easy to sail through because most episodes are only half an hour.

Reached the Festivus episode of Seinfeld earlier - now approaching the finish line of season 9!!
