Great events in the last few days. Things are finally getting back to normal....but not quite but it's great to see the trend.

The so-called "love" for collingwood that was evident last year, had become ridiculous this year with the appointment of the wokeish Darcy Moore

. All these media types who we hate, were expressing their undying love for the way that the Pies played.

It had even seeped into other aspects of how the Pies were viewed with the club's various apologies for things that it did over the last half century. To be honest, it was hard to find a bad word being said about the Pies and I was getting uncomfortable. One of the joys of being a Pie supporter is being hated. I remember my mother asking me what I wanted to be as a kid, and I told her that I wanted to be a lifelong Pie supporter who was hated by everyone else. It's just a natural fit for us supporters.

And finally the worm has turned and we're getting back to normal. Hopefully, the faithful in the stands will turn it on Toby this weekend. Of course, that would be the absolute minimum. I hope they can find other methods on the day to demonstrate to everyone just how unsociable we are.

I've been particularly worried about how some of the Pie players have coped with all this popularity in the last 18 months. I know Darcy likes to be the good guy but most of the other guys just want to be hated and feared. I think we're going to see an improvement in the coming months.

The other good thing about the return to old values is that membership will rise again. I've been worried that all this new-age wokeness was having a negative effect on membership numbers. Most people would say that we should just concentrate on doing the right thing and boo the opposition but I think this thread needs to keep an eye on wider issues like membership.

I think, above all, the ol Jock would be proud of the booing last weekend....and that the faithful will go even harder this weekend. We dont like being told what to do and some things are above even winning a premiership. You have to be true to yourself, and we are mongrels and proud of it.

Re the bolded, I’m very pleased to see this being recognised. We wouldn’t be Collingwood if we weren’t finding ways to knock us off the premiership path. If our players aren’t getting into trouble, then it’s up to the fans to disrupt proceedings. I’m especially pleased to see some of our disaffected fans calling for a Board spill. I’d time it for the third week of September, just to make sure it causes the most damage.

its conflicting, isnt it vicky. i say that i want a premiership and we should get rid of all the woke stuffing around....but then I love it when we derail ourselves. It makes me feel warm and secure.

well if you look at the past, I think it has been board spills which have sparked premierships. At any rate, the woke board has taken its eyes off the things that matter. I've heard from my sources that there is still some residual good will for buckley around the club. I'd like to lock these people in a room and feed them a few hours of booing...

In other matters, I booed the postman this morning and he scuttled away and probably wont bother me for several months. I'm thinking of using the technique on the roaches....

I agree we need to do something. The Board, the club, the footy department, the players - are all underperforming and getting distracted by making apologies all the time, and smiling too much. Something has to be done before the club implodes.

McRae and his woke ways is destroying this club.

We started last year looking the goods with Maynard and Kreuger both getting suspended for whacking blokes in the head in preseason. But that hope is all gone. This year all we're doing is laughing whenever we **** up. The spuddest kick of all time by Maynard that cost us a goal - and the whole team is in fits of hysterics - all led by that insidious woke on the boundary line.

I think the positive thing is that some amount of sanity has come back to the club in the last week, and it looks like we're going to tear this house of cards down and start again... I think if we replace the insurgents with some good magpie stock and strip back the playing group, we might start a run for the premiership in the mid 2040s. I usually tell my magpie friends that we need to find a mchale or a wren to start the process off....but I wouldnt say no to entertaining the return of mick and eddie, as long as eddie forgets any attempts are sorry. It's just not his style. It would be good to get back to Mick who would let the boys run free when they're outside the club. Boys need to practice being boys to prepare themselves for playing footy.

Another excellent idea. Bring some common sense and stability to the club. And get rid of the captain. He’s having an ok year down back, but he could do better. If he stops apologising for everything he can go back to doing stuff like training and studying the opposition. It might help his game.

i know you have a soft spot for darcy. He means well. I wouldnt be so harsh to say get rid of him. Just move him over to the Labor gov't. My sister lives in a gov't rental in abbottsford and she could do with a rent decrease and a makeover...for the house of course....well maybe both..
