im not putting any first year players in

I would think for Fremantle you would need to include:
Mundy, Barlow, Sandilands, Crowley and Pavlich when required. I'm not sure why you excluded first year players.

Sylvia has barely played in the midfield in his two games. I'd put McDonald in there instead. Either way, our list of 5 players isn't all that impressive looking but will be in a few years when Scully, Trengove, Morton and some others are carving it up :)

I think that Carlton's list is considerably better than Collingwood's. There is no way that Richmond have the 9th best. You've also included Newman (a defender) and Deledio and Cotchin who have been playing off half back recently. I'd knock the Kanga's list down a couple and maybe Essendon's up a couple. Not a bad effort though mate!

Overrating Hawthorn. Burgoyne hasn't even played a game yet and Rioli isn't even a full time midfielder.

If we're including forwards who spend time in the midfield then Didak should be in for us, as should Dayne Beams ahead of Ball.

Hawthorn third? Hodge plays on a back flank, Rioli in a forward pocket and Burgoyne in the physio room.
We are 4th behind Geelong (clear first), St Kilda (clear 2nd) and Bulldogs.
Our midfield is essentially Swan, Pendlebury, Didak, Wellingham, Ball, Thomas, Beams, Sidebottom, Johnson with others rotating through on occasion. Very good mix of inside/outside players and good ball users.

A midfield is a group of about 12 odd players. Some clubs have a very good 3 or 4 players but do not go very deep so when you only look at part of the midfield group you get a distorted view.

You also have to look outside the box in terms of ladder positions, some teams are doing well on the ladder due to improvements elsewhere on the ground.

true that freo should be rated higher but still in my list forgot to put barlow in a few years there your guna be preety happy with barlow hill suban and so on

Collingwood's midfield is 10 x better than Hawthorns.
Little harsh on the Blues as well, they're in the top 3-4 midfields i think.

This is one of the best post........ever!

Take this crap to the bay cause if your serious your either delusional or 12 years old or both.

1) Geelongs mids are the best and have the runs on the board to prove it.
2) Hawthorn aren't even top 6 atm let alone top 3.

Think you're being a little harsh on the Blues there. Carlton would easily have one of the top 3-4 midfields in the comp, you just can't go past Judd, Murphy and Gibbs. Just look at the way they tore us to shreds today. Freo should also be higher knowing that you have excluded first year players, Barlow, Hill and Suban are something exciting.

As a matter of fact, mine is:
1st- Geelong
2nd- St. Kilda
3rd- Carlton
4th- Footscray
5th- Collingwood
6th- Hawthorn
7th- Sydney
8th- Brisbane
9th- Adelaide
10th- Fremantle
11th- West Coast
12th- Port Adelaide
13th- Essendon
14th- Melbourne
15th- North Melbourne
16th- Richmond

Geelong, an amazing mix of hard at it, pace and stopping ability with remarkable depth

then choose 1 of the following depending on week.

Carlton - Judd makes the rest of them better and no matter what u read here, he is elite among the elite.
Bulldogs - seriously very very good and dangerous and fast
Collingwood - they're very even and Thomas has improved vastly making them better than last yr
St Kilda - once again very even, hard as nails and as good a contested midfield as exists.

then

everybody else with a large gap to Richmond.

In Supercoach scores:

Judd-146, Simpson-118, Murphy-116, Gibbs-108, Carrazzo-96 | Total-584
Ablett-146, Chapman-123, Bartel-115, Selwood-101, Corey-94 | Total-579
Boyd-120, Cooney-110, Griffen-110, Cross-108, Higgins-102 | Total-550
Goddard-123, Montagna-122, Dal Santo-108, Jones-90, Hayes-88 | Total-531
