Curnow the most wanted man in the AFL... I thought he was a diving, umpires pet, flat track bully?
Surely this has to be a mistake? Or maybe the AFL club bosses were held at gun point to come to this conclusion.

I randomly thought of Tom Bell
Now I am randomly thinking about Tom Bell vs Brayden Sier

Bryan and Scotland too

Ray Bryne left and we won another 2 flags
Loved Scotland. Professional to his bootlaces, worked on every weakness til he was a honed weapon, and had balls on him too. Hated when Didak whacked him.

Some beaut players in the black and blue club. Craig Davis was my favorite, all heart.

Byrne played over 200 games but was unlucky, played in 4 losing grand finals and no flags. Arrived at Carlton the year after we won the 72 flag and left the year before we won our next flag in 79.

Very good player for both clubs.

Funny bugger too

Byrne was a practical joker of the highest order, bringing humour to even the most awkward of situations. When he played on Kevin Bartlett in the Richmond great’s 400th league game, he congratulated the balding Tiger on his milestone and presented him with a comb with its teeth cut out. In an earlier final against Geelong, he sought to pay a lost bet to Cat Stephen Lunn by pulling out a $50 note from one of his socks.

“I took the $50 out and said ‘Have you got any change on you, Lunny?” Byrne recalled with a smile. “He didn’t know where to look.”

I'm looking at Collingwood's first 9 weeks and I can see them being 1-8, maybe 2-7 if they get a bit lucky with some umpire calls (per usual). How many weeks until we turn on Fly and see him for the cult leader he is?

The fact you spent time looking at our first 9 weeks is most concerning. I don’t even know who you play in the first round.

In the last century:

Carlton 11
Collingwood 11

In the past half-century:

Carlton 5
Collingwood 3

In the past quarter of a century

Carlton 0
Collingwood 2

All time:

16 each

Longest premiership drought:
Carlton 28 years*
Collingwood 31

One could manipulate the time periods to count back flags to suit their own bias.

In my opinion, if Carlton’s premiership drought surpasses 31 years, their supporter’s arguments about flags in the past 50/60 years become superfluous and it will be time to put the tail between the legs.

The droughts slightly different though...Carlton are 25 seasons and counting from even winning through to make a GF, and instead collect spoons and have been a laughing stock.

The Pies whilst not winning, were still regularly actually involved in the last weekend in September.

The signature crusty Bagger approach to only focus in one Carlton's glory period when they had the great zone and bought flags.

If the last 25 years of being an embrassment havent done it, another 3 years aint likely to either.

A few old Baggers are stuck in the VFL era, everyone else has moved on / weren't alive.

If Collingwood’s a cult, sign me up. We could do with more like him around the league.

Not surprising. No point concerning yourself with complete non-entities.

None of the above. Just someone who’s finally seen the light in a room I didn’t even know was dark. Stuck with the moniker until the end of the current SFA season though (I’ve stuffed them around enough already).
