Yep, Pies started slowly and copped a bunch of strong teams.Like the 1-3 Pies you mean?

It's a shame Carlton haven't played any condenders yet. Who are they playing this week?
You should make a thread about that.remember it well, do you? Who cares? Only someone who hasn't beaten ANYONE in a grand final for 10,409 days.
That's a very long time...10,409 days
Don't worry you'll probably play 17 or 18 at the MCG again that should keep you happy.Yep, Pies started slowly and copped a bunch of strong teams.
If only we were give a soft start like some other clubs.
I thought you guys were going to have another dominant season this year? 4-6 goals behind 3 expected top 8 teams isn't a great sign of whats to come.Yep, Pies started slowly and copped a bunch of strong teams.
If only we were give a soft start like some other clubs.
Why would the AFL give the reigning premiers a leg up though? We’re already ahead of the pack, the AFL needs to promote equalisationYep, Pies started slowly and copped a bunch of strong teams.

Most sound Carlton supporter logic.I thought you guys were going to have another dominant season this year? 4-6 goals behind 3 expected top 8 teams isn't a great sign of whats to come.
Didn't really look close in any of those games and if the Lions didn't have Hipwood last night u probably lose that too
I would have genuinely swapped Fagan on for Hipwood at HTI thought you guys were going to have another dominant season this year? 4-6 goals behind 3 expected top 8 teams isn't a great sign of whats to come.
Didn't really look close in any of those games and if the Lions didn't have Hipwood last night u probably lose that too
What better way for them to ensure the supporters of the lesser clubs maintain interest for as long as possible throughout the season? Why would the AFL give the reigning premiers a leg up though? We’re already ahead of the pack, the AFL needs to promote equalisation
Sides who haven’t made grand finals for 25 years should have it easier, logically
He was awful - kept making costly mistakes that stopped certain Brisbane scores and led to Collingwood goals on the other end. Genuinely had an absolute mare of a game“If Brisbane DIDN’T have their 40 goal forward playing, they somehow would won”
Carlton had a tougher draw last year and played 4 of the the top 8 finalists twice , those being Collingwood, Melbourne, gws, and St kilda. Why would the AFL give the reigning premiers a leg up though? We’re already ahead of the pack, the AFL needs to promote equalisation

We're just lucky he played amazingly against Carlton (as did the rest of the Brisbane team), and he had his off day against us (as did the rest of the Brisbane team, except Neale)....Most sound Carlton supporter logic.

Pies were 4-5 after R9 in 2022 and still made top4. Dropping a couple of tough games early aint the end of the world.I thought you guys were going to have another dominant season this year? 4-6 goals behind 3 expected top 8 teams isn't a great sign of whats to come.
Lol, it was the Baggers who were lucky to win against the Lions and were talking it up as a strong win!Didn't really look close in any of those games and if the Lions didn't have Hipwood last night u probably lose that too
Lol, it was the Baggers who were lucky to win against the Lions and were talking it up as a strong win!
AFL tried their best with the fixture for Carlton, given GWS were predicted to be bottom 4 and St. Kilda bottom 6.Carlton had a tougher draw last year and played 4 of the the top 8 finalists twice , those being Collingwood, Melbourne, gws, and St kilda.
Wouldn't have have called it a softer draw at all.
Carlton under manned v lions so in context an excellent winPies were 4-5 after R9 in 2022 and still made top4. Dropping a couple of tough games early aint the end of the world.
Lol, it was the Baggers who were lucky to win against the Lions and were talking it up as a strong win!
That’s fair enough. Carlton had to play the premiers twice, whereas Collingwood didn’t play them at allCarlton had a tougher draw last year and played 4 of the the top 8 finalists twice , those being Collingwood, Melbourne, gws, and St kilda.
Wouldn't have have called it a softer draw at all.
We finished 9th in 2022 - did you expect our fixture to be the same as yours who lost in a Prelim...?AFL tried their best with the fixture for Carlton, given GWS were predicted to be bottom 4 and St. Kilda bottom 6.
Hence my earlier comment about assessment of fixture difficulty...
On the other hand, he was defended really well and now allowed any gimme marks all night. Every opportunity was a 50/50, which he didn’t complete. Collingwood’s defence was on song all nightHe was awful - kept making costly mistakes that stopped certain Brisbane scores and led to Collingwood goals on the other end. Genuinely had an absolute mare of a game
OK. Carlton's win in Round 0 is the best performance we've seen by any AFL team this year (despite Brisbane being winless after three games).
- Down 6 of our best 22 (then lose Docherty at HT)
- Down by 46 points
- At the Gabba where Lions had been undefeated for over a year
All luck...
That while correct would be both highly complex and subjective and hence of little value for objective judgmentSpot on.
Assessing fixture difficulty at the beginning of the year, based on the previous season's finishing positions, is a waste of time.
Assessing fixture difficulty at the end of the season based on that season's finishing positions is a little better.
But to truly and accurately assess fixture difficulty, you have to assess the form and line-up of the opposition on a week to week basis.
Mate he was dropping uncontested marks - he was a straight liability last night. Could have been defended by Stevie Wonder and he would have had no impact. Contrastingly, Frampton did a great job on Daniher. That I will give credit for.On the other hand, we was defended really well and now allowed any gimme marks all night. Every opportunity was a 50/50, which he didn’t complete. Collingwood’s defence was on song all night
