I'm 'Anti Carlton' because I didn't see Cripps as having one of the all time greatest individual seasons in the history of the game...Take your anti Carlton behaviour where the sun don't shine, amigo.
"Anti-Carlton" sounds like a preventative medicine they should inject all the 5 year old kids with.I'm 'Anti Carlton' because I didn't see Cripps as having one of the all time greatest individual seasons in the history of the game...
What year was that ?Collingwood are a very well coached side that does not rely on individuals to carry the team. Collingwood won three of their last four games played without Nick Daicos, including a final.
His Fadgelow year, and Collingwood's premiership year - 2023.What year was that ?
You can't take out pick 3. It exists and won't be taken away.Take pick 3 out, you’ve gone backwards with your trading.
Clubs flying past.
Why not get rid of Cripps and Weitering as well? How are they going to improve as players? (If that's your rationale for trading Kennedy and Owies).Tell me how Owies and Kennedy were going to improve as players also coz I'd like to really know the secret to holding onto those player types and not regenerating in any way

So not this year, or next yearHis Fadgelow year, and Collingwood's premiership year - 2023.

You have Carlton finishing 15th in 2025. An opinion shared by about 2% of the AFL supporting populationI'm 'Anti Carlton' because I didn't see Cripps as having one of the all time greatest individual seasons in the history of the game...
Well this thread is no longer about 2024, and my crystal ball doesn't tell me about when Daicos does or doesn't play in 2025, and Collingwood's results in those games. So not this year, or next year
And between 30% and 40% of the AFL supporting population predicted Carlton to be in the top 4 and contending for the premiership in 2024 - it doesn't mean they got it right...You have Carlton finishing 15th in 2025. An opinion shared by about 2% of the AFL supporting population
As did Owies. Both cripps and Weitering improved this season.
Nor does it mean you are right eitherAnd between 30% and 40% of the AFL supporting population predicted Carlton to be in the top 4 and contending for the premiership in 2024 - it doesn't mean they got it right...
Owies the easier of the 3 options to replace considering 1 of them is a dual brownlow medalist, the other a current AA. But you seem to like OwiesAs did Owies.
I don't particularly like Owies, but am aware that you need a list of between 30 and 35 AFL level players to contend for a premiership.Owies the easier if the 3 options to replace considering 1 of them is a dual brownlow medalist, the other a current AA. But you seem to like Owies
hard to argue with any of this Worm4You can't take out pick 3. It exists and won't be taken away.
removing marchbank, Martin and Cunningham I would have thought was a good move - agree or not ?
Tell me how Owies and Kennedy were going to improve as players
Whether they finish 18th, 15th, 12th or 8th, my overarching prediction is that they don't have the list to genuinely contend for the premiership.Nor does it mean you are right either
You don't know that the list has gone backwards . Thats just your opinion.I don't particularly like Owies, but am aware that you need a list of between 30 and 35 AFL level players to contend for a premiership.
Carlton have just let go a 33 goal a year forward, and their 'best clubman' who finished 10th in their best and fairest.
They're a mid table team whose list has gone backwards this off season, entering a year where their top 5 players are in their absolute prime.
It depends on who you are replacing them with - players who couldn't get a game ahead of them in 2024 (they played 47 of a possible 48 games between them this year), or unproven 18/19 year olds?I still fail to see how getting rid of a few fringe players makes the list weaker. You keep referring to Carlton as middling - does not retaining those player types keep Carlton in the same territory ?
You might also want to throw in Mitchell, McStay and Hill - all crucial players in our finals series.Sometimes clubs need to make hard decisions in order to try and get better. Look at Adams, Grundy, treloar for example. Replaced by Daicos, Cameron, and all of a sudden the list is regenerated slightly and became a premiership team.
Well normally when a club has a major weakness in an area of the ground (small forwards) they don't go and get rid of their best asset in that area (Owies) and expect to be better. But somehow Carlton fans do.You can't take out pick 3. It exists and won't be taken away.

U keep making out as if Owies is irreplaceable... He's a complete spud idk wtf ur talking about? It's like when u nuffies say Cox or McSpud are big losses... They play a role but they suckWell normally when a club has a major weakness in an area of the ground (small forwards) they don't go and get rid of their best asset in that area (Owies) and expect to be better.
