How can you use current form and facts about 2025 it's not here yet?
Tis normal to use recent history when doing predictions for the upcoming season.

But yes, you are correct nobody knows how 2025 will play out yet.

Tis just a troll who thinks results from the 1970s are relevant

I finally had time post Xmas to follow up on Mason Cox. He’s never finished top ten in the Collingwood best and fairest. Only top tens are readily available, so I’m not even confident he’s ever finished top fifteen.

A couple of finals kicking a mind boggling three goals in each doesn’t change the fact he’s a well below average player across his career on every available measure.

Sure 3 goals in a final is not a big deal

But 3 in a quarter, or half a quarter, can bust a final open, and he's done that twice, in games where we were rank underdogs and up against it

He's not Royce Hart but Pie fans who know about the game Cox, a Magpie premiership hero

Cox has been very important in some great finals wins for the Pies.

2023 finals series he took over the main ruck responsibility and did a great job.

An inconsistent player over the journey, but he has played a few very strong finals.

I am stunned, absolutely stunned that you only rate Dustin Martin as Richmond’s 10th best player in history. Not only is he 10th but you have 13 other players listed in 10th with him. Wow, just wow. You could have him listed as low as 22. Martin not rated by his own fans. Stop the presses.

And yet he's still dogshite
Has played more than his share of "dogshite" games, but the point is he has actually played some of his best footy in big finals, unlike others.

And he is a legit ruck, who can play forward and be dangerous.

In 2025 he might not be played every week, but you need the 30+ deep squad if you want to play deep in September.

He's rubbish lmao. Will be retiring or delisted end of 2025 most likely.

So Richmond weren't the most consistent team? If not who was? Seems you like to disagree for the sake of disagreeing
See, when normal people think of the term 'consistency' in relation to sporting teams or players, they think of who is 'consistently good'.

Most junior footy teams award a 'Most Consistent' trophy, and when awarding that, you'd go for the reliable defender who might only get 10 possessions a week but can be counted on to stop his opponent; or the midfielder who can get his hands on it 25 times a game and is a good user and decision maker; or the forward who was able to hit the scoreboard most weeks, whilst also setting up goals for his teammates.

But Carlton supporters would give it to the kid who didn't get a kick all year, because he was the 'most consistent'.

No chance he will be delisted.

Could very well retire, but as he only started playing footy in his mid 20s, so he is pretty fresh compared to a guy like M.Gawn who is also born in 1991.

For 2025 he is a great option if Pies want to play 2 rucks.

Yep, when his career is done and you compare it with the career of every player that was on Carlton's list at the end of the 2024 season once their respective careers are done, it will be interesting how many Carlton players will be rated ahead of Cox.

Will there be 10?

A dozen?

Because there certainly won't be 15 or 20.

'Great' 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Cox is as low a bar as there is in the AFL for players to play over 100games. One of the worst to ever do it regardless of if he's played 3 or 4 good games in his career.

McKay and Curnow, at 27 years old, have got a job ahead of them to produce as much in finals in their careers as Cox has in finals in his career.

Fudge nobody cares. You tell us who you think will be remembered as the better players? Curnow and McKay or Cox?

As a whole package, regular season and finals combined.
Cox will be remembered as a big-game hero, Curnow and McKay as downhill skiers
