For the first reason, your club is one of the sole reasons why the extended salary cap was required.

All clubs have had their problems it's just that your club seems to have the most and why should I hate your club because of it, well you have to couple that with your obnoxious supporter base, it's the complete package.
Go through your answers, you'll find I'm not alone with these thoughts, most will say because of your supporters firstly.
Only sunday one of your brethren stole a Cops cap, just another reason for your pres to get on TV to somehow justify or defend his supporters actions.
Then of course there is the continuing saga of violence attributed your fans.

Why don't you just admit that its an irrational hatred that was instilled in you from a young age? There is absolutely nothing Collingwood has done that St Kilda hasn't done.

Our players indiscretions are no worse/better than yours even now. But St Kilda was founded on a booze culture and only in the modern era has shaped into a decent and respectable football club with greats like Riewoldt, Harvey. History is short when its convenient isn't it?

The fans are no different, we just have more, so more incidents. But we never had banners for people like Jim O'Dea. Missing a tooth or being poor doesn't make you a bad person.

Mate look it was always gonna be tough for us to knock off the saints.... this week id much rather be playing the crows at AAMI to be quite honest haha but reading over the majority of reasons given, they are all very stereotypical. People bag out eddie, but look what he has done for the club, he wears his heart on his sleeve. Collingwood is a proud and passionate footy club, a bit rough around the edges in terms of supporters on occasions, but in reality, every team has bad supporters. Judge a team by the way they conduct themselves on the field... if you have reason to think we are a bad footy club based on that reason, then fair enough, but dont just jump on the collingwood hate bandwagon for no lagitimate apparent reason, too all those people i suggest have a mind of your own instead of following the "hate" suit. Since when did it become a crime for loving your footy club and wanting them to do well???

I hate them mainly as they think they are a big club, they think they are successful as they won a heap of premierships 50-60-70 years ago. They think they can get anyone they want yet they are never able to land a big fish (though I realise a lot of this is more media beat-up than Collingwood). I hate the fact they get gifted everything and anythign they ask for by the AFL.
Most of their supporters are completely irrational as they all believe that the above is correct, except the AFL favouritism part as they think they get shafted despite getting the majority of their games at their home ground every single year.

I hate Maguire, I hate Malthouse and his temper tantrums at press conferences.

The only thing I actually like about Collingwood is the choke in grand finals

14 premierships - third on the all time list.

1400 wins - more than any other side, ever.

More finals series than any other side.

I'd say that's more successful than almost every other side. Don't give me this 1in50 stuff, yes, it's true, and it's not good, we can't shy away from that, BUT, over the journey, it's still more than nearly every other side. It's as many as StK have won, ever, and WB have won since 1925.

What I like though, is the rivalry. Collingwood games mean more, they get talked about more and they get the blood pumping more than games against some other teams. So let's run with that. I hate the Pies more than anything in the world and may we both live long to play against each other many, many more times.

I guess you love to say you hate a team you want to play well against, so people say it. You love to cut down a tall poppy, so people say it. You love to think supporters of your own club are more intelligent, better looking and better socially adjusted than those of other clubs...so people say it.

The mighty West Coast Eagles on the other hand have been the most successful club on field having competed in five grand finals and won three premierships, have missed the finals only six times in the past 22 years and are the only club never to have taken the wooden spoon.

What's more, I'm pretty sure that if we were to play 14 games at Subiaco every season we'd probably have made the finals every year!

Let's face it - the only way you were able to even make the Grand Final in 01 and 02 is because your greasy little president snuck in and pinched our premiership winning coach from under our nose.

The media (in Melbourne) constantly harps on the ground breaking facilities at the Lexus Centre. Apparently you are the envy of every club.

In fact membership for the Mighty West Coast Eagles would be even larger with around 10,000 potential members on a six-year-waiting list to become members as seats become available at Subiaco Oval.


PLAUDIT 5: COLLINGWOOD ARE TREATED SO HARSHLY BY THE MEDIA

Ok this one isn't really a plaudit but it is used to try to garner sympathy from the uninformed here on BF. It is spouted by your supporters every time Alan Didak has a brain fade / starts shooting at cops / hanging out with murderers and the media reports it.

How about winning a Grand Final but the media spending more time criticizing our players for not shaking every child's hands after winning the ultimate; or spending more time telling us how the opposing side showed up with their B-Game while the Mighty West Coast Eagles played out of their skins and still only won by a point; or that when the Eagles are successful it is only because we are on performance enhancing drugs and when we are losing it is because we are tanking for draft picks; or I could list a billion slurs made daily towards my club in the media that are either made up, mis-informed or being deliberately provocative.

I am yet to go to a game where I can sit next to a Collingwood supporter and walk away at the end of the game and say 'what a nice guy/girl'?

With nearly every other club I've gone to games and can say I've had a good chat with an opposition supporter about the game, the umpires, the future of the clubs etc. But at Collingwood games I've found I've only ever sat near foul mouthed pigs.

I know there's some great Maggies fans out there, and I personally known a couple, but at the game I've found Magpie supporters are far more rude, abrasive and more likely to jump to conclusions.

Hawthorn is the exception to the rule. Yet to meet a decent Hawks fan at a game.

This pretty much sums it up.
