What about Inzamam Ul-Haq when he smased a supporter with a bat in a match in Toronto.

Fair go. The supporter had called him a 'fat potato' so I think his reponse was pretty understandable...

So if Adam Gilchrist ran out Matthew Hoggard while he was congratulating Freddie Flintoff on a century you would have absolutely no problem with it?

No, why was there? It was within the laws of the game, some people crap on about the spirit of the game too much, especially Australians

Mankad was within the laws of the game too. So is having a specialist fielder come on as 12th man so that your bowlers can rest up. Bodyline? Trevor Chappell? The Aussies blocking the s___ out of it in the 99 World Cup trying to get the Windies through to the next round. All within the rules but all wrong as far as I'm concerned.

The spirit of the game stuff is what elevates cricket above other sports IMO.

Nope, I would be calling Hoggard a ********ing moron for leaving his crease whilst the ball is still in play, he left his crease when the ball was in mid air, its utter stupidity from murali

That's bull******** and everyone here knows it. You'd be calling for Gilchrist and his children and his children to be expelled from every level of the game for life and using it as another example of the filthy aussies ruining world cricket.

What I did find interesting was the lack of any abuse towards Haddin for a far worse one just days before from these same people calling McCullum a cheat

BTW I see you seem to know me better than I do

Seriously you are keeping and the ball is returned from the outfield and you turn around and the batsman is out of his crease, who wouldnt knock off the bails? Although i guess Gentleman Gilly wouldnt do it, yeah right, ever noticed how every other player in the world after a century is scored on that run, stands there with their bat in their crease untill the ball is dead? Wonder why when according to the experts on here they cant be run out if they leave their crease because they aint running

This is your main tactic right here. Instead of just saying what Haddin did, you say something vague like that so that people ask you what he did so you can post again. You just love the attention mate, it's pathetic and sooner or later people will stop falling for it.

What? You mean people dont already know? Well it was mentioned often enough in the thread about McCullum and was shown live around Australia as well as replayed often enough, but make up ******** about it being a tactic? Wtf  I just assumed most know what happened, not used to you fools who talk ******** yet dont seem to know anything or ever watch cricket

Anyway, the ball went through to Haddin, he held the ball and then the non striker assuming the ball is dead, which it should have been, went to do some gardening and Haddin threw the ball and hit the stumps having him run out

The ball is supposed to be dead when it has rested in the keepers gloves but obviously not this time

Be that as it may I noticed you do it in the thread about Jason Gillespie too. You're an attention seeker. Either way it's starting to look like I follow you around to harass you so I'm going to ignore you from now on.

I would want to kill my keeper if he didnt do the same thing, its not like the ball had been returned to the keeper and then Murali took off, as Fleming said, would they have turned down overthrows? Of course not

Rubbish. They wouldn't have run. Sangakarra had his helmet off raising his bat to the dressing room, Murali was heading off to congratulate him. Neither player would even have noticed if MacCallum had got a bad bounce and the ball skipped away from him for potential overthrows.

Fleming can try to justify it if he wants to if that helps him sleep at night. They got a wicket because Sangakarra made a hundred. If the single had taken him to 99 not out they would not have got a wicket. Surely that should tell them something?

There is an element of etiquette involved. The game of cricket tests your character as well as your skill. The decision by MacCallum to remove the bails and Fleming not to recall him was revealing. They put winning a test match ahead of what their conscience was surely telling them, no matter how they try and justify it afterwards.
