It's all about proportionate response.

I'm not sure the police have proportionately responded to some of these situations, or attempted to de-escalate them sufficiently.

I'm sure in some cases it's been reasonable and proportionate, but that doesn't excuse the cases where it isn't.

Rubber bullets , Tazers , Capsicum Spray , were all introduced as alternatives to Guns and Truncheons.
There is always a risk that they can be used inappropriately, and if they consider them harmless frivolously. ( Refer to the movie "The Hangover " )

I'm not convinced that its happening on a wide scale here, and we seem to have a lot more people trying to produce footage of "bad cops" than we have of "bad protesters " .

I'm not sure there are many places on the planet where police will leave rioters to run their course.

I was watching real time footage yesterday morning on ABC Ch 24 of a bloke with dreads getting arrested. He was spitting on the cops as they were trying to get a mask on him, and each time he got a hand free he'd pull down the mask and spit again. In the end three cops were needed to stand him up and force his head downwards to prevent copping his saliva. Of course, when this footage was used on their own propaganda sites later that day, they were only showing a spliced up version of the bloke's dreads getting grabbed to force down his head - no context at all as to what led to this.

I think it's very acceptable, if each of those 1000 have made the choice to take on a virus, and thus risk spreading it onto others who have not chosen that option, rather than getting a simple, free and safe injection.
