Sam Mitchell made the same mistake as you, taking the tag off the best player on the ground.Surprise surprise, Nash goes off Butters and on to JHF and he suddenly starts finding the pill.
Hawks just stopped at the start of the 4th. More concerned with defending a lead than trying to keep the ball rolling like they did all game. Poor, and the coaching by Mitchell to be blamed for not sending a message.
Close games are scary.Ken eats pressure for breakfast.
The players are learning from one of the greats

Scared of giving away a free
it was as soft as it was dumb by Amon. In that situation of the game you shouldn't be reaching anywhere on your opponent. That rioli free kick was soft as butter. Terrible call. Especially considering the umpires umpired like a wet weather final all game (unless it was jhf)
Say what you like about Mitchell and his tactics but if that free kick wasn't plucked out of thin air he would have been right.

king is right. putting a bloke who has kicked 5 goals behind the ball from the start sends a very negative message to the group. hawks just needed a goal and mitchell didnt back in his players.
Frost cops flack but he was a bloody hero in that last quarter. put it all on the line
Kudos to the 2 Hawks sjpporters who stood next to me all game chirping away.
Took it so gracefully in the end
Those possession chains between defensive 50 and the wing were awful, they missed so many times to gain effective territory and maybe even get a match winning goal out the back. Instead they just got themselves into messes, the pressure ramped up and Port had a real sniff.Last post on the matter (unless someone replies and wants a response I guess) but lost track of the amount of times a Hawks player had clean possession and a bit of time in the last quarter and decided to go sideways or backwards or find a way to milk a stoppage. The insides 50s (like 20 to 5 or similar) tell the story - all well and good if you've got a huge lead and need to take it easy for next week but you're asking for it with such negative play with a not that insignificant margin.
HTB doesn't exist anymore. Maybe 5% of them are paid.So many non HTB decisions in the last quarter.
Sam Mitchell probably wishes he had that excuse. What a horror show 4th quarter from him in the boxWas that tanking?
Still remember richos face when Gray kicked that goalYou never go full st.kilda
