Definitely looking the goods, does anyone think he could do a rotation through the middle at some stage.

He would put a new meaning to a midfield bull. Not talking massive minutes or regularly. But 5 to 10min a game can take some pressure of jhf and add a different option in there at times

Could work if you started him at the edge of the square.

Good to see Lauchie having a couple of good games , I reckon he’ll get some confidence from that . Jonas would be worried he mightn’t get back in . Hopefully he can build from here and cement his place in the team

L Jones always had it in him as a defender. Only 26 games, so still plenty of development left. I think we stuffed him about a bit by trying to squeeze him into the team, not so much midfield as a forward flanker - was serviceable but not his strength. I think he will inevitably find his way into the midfield, just give it time.

DEFENDER Lachie Jones will miss Thursday night’s clash with Geelong with a fractured jaw.
Jones suffered the injury after a collision in the last quarter of Friday night’s win over the Western Bulldogs. Despite pain and swelling, the 21-year-old was able to play out the game but x-rays have since revealed a fracture. While he won’t require surgery, the injury will likely sideline him for a month.

Jonas probably clocked him .. Second jaw he's broken in the past month.

Disappointed and even a bit pissed off that Lachie has got another injury when he is good form.

2021 plays a couple of pretty good first up AFL games then picks up an ankle injury - syndismosis and misses 4 games. He was expected to debut in Rd 1 but got injured late in the preseason. Comes back, plays well for a couple of games then drops off next game, then tears his hamstring just after half time amd misses rest of the season ie 8 games plus finals.

2022 plays ok first few games, covid hits, dropped to sanfl, works his way back into the side and builds up his form, wins the rising star weekly award and then next game tears his hamstring again around half way thru the game, misses 3 or 4 games, plays a game and during it twangs his hammy again and misses the last 3 games of the season.

Even this year whilst his form wasnt great in the first few rounds, was lost "tagging" Nick Daicos and was probably going to be dropped after the showdown, but he had hamstring tightness and missed the next two sanfl games. Plays a good game then a great game and breaks his jaw.

People will have to be patient with Lachie. Played about 25 games and is probably another 40 or 50 games away from hitting his top end form week in week out.

Rozee had played 60 games and had that foot injury issue before we saw him week in week out deliver high end performances and Butters has only delivered week in week out, fromlate last year and this year and after playing 60 odd games after he got more experience and got over his 2021 injury issue.

Get this kid some milk and play on.

All joking aside, I felt the coaching staff give Lachie a bit of a green light for the year.

He played in the first few games of the year in the middle and thrown around but didn't quite have the form needed, went back to the Magpies and played well and when his opportunity came, he played 3 very good games settled down back.

We just have to wait Lachie to recover and then he should be close to straight back in. Things seem to have clicked for him which seemed like a matter of time given his abilities.

Another preseason and watch out!!!
