I would, I'd even add a draft pick. But throwing in more than a 3rd is a "stretch".
I'm not sure Billy is on the table mate.

What are Lang's strengths?
On paper it's a pretty even, if underwhelming deal. I just can't recall Lang standing out in any way but I certainly think it is a positive he is young and has the ability to transition into the midfield.
My take is that Lang is a lot like Marc Murphy was in his rookie season. Maybe not quite the same class but similar traits. A very good ball user, good vision and football smarts , also an eye for a goal but struggles to stand up in tackles etc. He's a few years older and you kind of expect him to be a bit more powerful by now, the skill is all there but to me it still looks like he needs an extra 2-3 kgs to compete for a permanent midfield position. Expecially with more and more guys the size of Cripps.
Hey mate out of interest, what fringe player are you thinking?I'd be really disappointed to lose Lang for Tuohy. Lang was a first round selection in 2013 and is projecting to be a very good player (albeit with limited exposure). I also appreciate that Tuohy is in his prime and fits a need for us. I'm hoping it's pick 38 and a fringe player (not Lang).

Similar gait to Murph.
Could he make it as a permanent half forward?

Three possible options that I'd consider are:Hey mate out of interest, what fringe player are you thinking?
Thanks for that.We really don't have much you'd be interested in. I'd love to sell you on Murdoch, Horlin-Smith, Smedts or Vardy but it's not you or I making the trades so I don't see much point in making stuff up.
Murdoch: Fantastic pace, nice penetrating kick, good size. For years I thought he'd be a very good footballer but just doesn't have a football brain.
Smedts: Another great athlete but terrible ball drop and struggles to find the ball. Plenty of teams I think could find a role for him but his kicking will always frustrate even if the stats don't quite reflect it.
Horlin-Smith: Finds plenty of the ball and is solid in the middle but glacier slow and too safe using the ball.
Gregoson: Decent player but his size works against him.
All are worth a punt on your list. There's AFL potential their but none are worth a regular starter like Touhy.
Yeah probably option 1, but not vardy. Unless we offload kreuzer this yearThree possible options that I'd consider are:
1. Pick 38 and Vardy, Horlin-Smith or Smedts.
2. Gregson and 38 for Tuohy and 45.
3. Blicavs for Tuohy.
I'll get howled down by Geelong fans for options 2 and 3. What do you think?

That's interesting because I'd go with option 2 or 3 if I were in your position. Obviously you know Carlton's list much better than me though.Yeah probably option 1, but not vardy. Unless we offload kreuzer this year

I'd go option 3 and play Blicavs as a second ruckman/utility to Kreuzer. Won our B&F in that role last year. We seem intent on playing him in some sort of quasi midfield role.I'd rather keep Tuohy to be honest but Option 1 does seem the better option of the 3.
If anything Cats make out like bandits getting an established player for a non established player left out of Cats Prelim squad

Everybody wants something for nothing.
"We want to keep our best 22 talent because we're gunning for a flag. We don't want to trade our kids either. Instead we'll give you a useless late pick and a player who'll be delisted next year. Deal?"
Sounds awesome guys.
If your going to pretend to be list managers at least try and come up with something that might possibly happen.
Or motlop actually gets all his talent together and plays well they tend to play well in contract years bryce gibbs played the best 9 rounds of football i have seen from him right before he signed for 5 years lolI think by leaving in 12 months rather than now Motlop gets the best of both worlds-gets a genuine chance to win a flag next year and then after that go if he wants more money and be able to choose his club without Geelong having to agree to a trade. Given he tends to play his best in contract years he is unlikely to get offered less money by clubs in 12 months time than he would bet offered now, unless he does a knee next year. Whereas if he agrees to a trade now he forgoes the flag chance and doesn't benefit a lot from moving early. This is why the talk about him possibly being traded is off the mark-Motlop is unlikely to agree to be traded now simply because it helps Geelong get other deals done when it isn't in his own best interest.

I don't know what is weirder, the fact that you'd trade Blicavs for Tuohy or the fact that it's not the preferred option for Blues fans.
Picks 38 and 42 for Tuohy. It seems apparent that the players CFC has earmarked in the trade for Touhy don't want to move to Prinny Park and are happy to remain at Whiskers stadium. That being said, isn't it time to bring a third party into the mix? Perhaps it could look a little something like this:-
- Tuohy to Geelong
- CFC 3rd round (currently 58) to WB
- Geelong 2nd round (currently pick 38) to WB
- Geelong 3rd round (currently pick 42) to Carlton
- Hrovat to CFC
SUMMARY
Carlton:
Out - Tuohy, pick 58
In - Hrovat, pick 42
Geelong:
Out - pick 38, 42
In - Tuohy
WB:
Out - Hrovat
In - pick 38, 58
nb: CFC need to offer something better than North in order to win the bidding war* for Hrovat (North currently hold picks 32 and 33, which I am assuming they would potentially use one of in order to bid for Hrovat).

I'm almost 100% positive Touhy will end up in the PSD. Carlton is asking way too much for him and he approached Geelong, not the other way around.
