I've been one of the last few on the "sack the medical staff" bandwagon but I'm baffled by our inability to give accurate return dates on injuries. Remember when Allen was meant to come back for round 4?

I understand injuries can be fluid situations but I struggle to recall many nistances where the club has been able to give a somewhat accurate return date. Sometimes they won't even bother and chuck in a 'TBC'. I could understand the whole 'conservative approach' theory if we didn't have such a horrendous re-injury rate for some of our players (Yeo, Shuey, Petrucelle, Edwards and many more I'm sure).

Seriously, how many times has Petrucelle done his ****ing hamstring?

To be fair, if we were winning games they might have pushed Allen back early (ok maybe not rd 4 early). I suspect out performances have meant they club is happy giving players more time to heal.

Hamstring.

Forget the injury list. They just make it up and forget players anyway.

Stocks mentioned it in his weekly puff piece prior to the Round 8 match against Brisbane.

Training earlier in the day had revealed captain Luke Shuey and forward Jack Petruccelle had hamstring complaints and would not play.

Not sure why he hasn't been noted in the injury lists since.

I'm more forgiving of Allen as foot injuries aren't predictable (you build up slow and have setbacks along the way). It's all these hammies that are a huge worry. Suggests several things: conditioning is poor, rehab is not complete and players are coming back too soon, diagnosis is bad (re Rioli and his "cork").

We must be up to at nearly ten hammies now. Off the top of my head: Shuey, Jones, Kelly, B Williams, West, Petch, Rioli, Witho. Then you've got guys like Gaff and L Edwards that keep have recurrences of the same injury (ankle and groin).

Out: Foley (inj), Ryan (inj/susp), Dixon, Rotham
In: Naish, Shuey, Gaff, Kennedy

Backs: Barrass, McGov, Edwards, Witherden, Duggan, Jones, Nelson
Mids: Gaff, Naish, Kelly, Redden, West, Clark
Rucks: Jamieson, Williams
Forwards: Kennedy, Darling, Waterman, Cripps, Winder, SPS, Shuey
Sub: Rotham
Emergencies: Dixon (traveling), Hough, Trew?

Gaff straight swap for Foley who played wing. Naish into the 22, pushes Nelson back and Rotham drops to sub.

Kennedy straight swap for Dixon, if he’s fit.

Shuey in for Ryan, play him predominantly forward to ease him in. He and SPS can rotate through the middle a bit.

Give Hurn another week, give Yeo a run in the WAFL.

Gaff for Foley (and plays on a wing)
Shuey for Ryan (and he plays forward with spurts on the ball)
Kennedy for Dixon (If fit, but can't see him travelling)
Hurn for Edwards (If fit, depends if GWS are tall up front)

I'm concerned for Foley's longevity in the comp at AFL level. I can see another Vendables Sheppard situation with concussion in him.

His issues are that he is super slow for a small sized player. Small build which he looks the type that would take ages to build any muscle on. Will have a small frame for his entire career.

Can only see things going one way for him.
And that's exactly what happened on the weekend. His gonna get caught and rag dolled around in his career. Pace is the main issue for him. I don't think his going make it for this reason. This won't be the first time he gets concussed.

Feel bad for saying it but I'm hoping not all of those 4 get up - all champions of the club and best 22 but brining back multiple players never ends well for us. One of Gaff or Shuey to be given another week please.

In: Shuey Hurn
Out: Foley Ryan

I haven't been convinced on Foley but I reckon he's gotten better defensively and harder at the ball this season.

Never really considered him slow though? Fingers crossed he's ok.

He got his arms pinned and his full body weight went head first into the turf.

Find me another player who wouldn't have gotten a concussion with that happening to them.
