With your offer, you are starting to make Peter Dutton look like a genuinely nice guy. Maybe it is a Qld thing.

I am assuming Lions are at top level for both years meaning value it as pick 17 for both this and next years R1

I am assuming we are in much the same case next year meaning you want our R2 and R3 say at 19 and 37.

That values Robertson at pick 6. That is a big pass for me. Take out the pick 19 and it still rates Robertson at pick 21 which to me in on the high side.

To get you to pick 1, there has to be a massive premium. Plus it assures you do not need to pay up pick 1 in points.

It wasn’t my trade suggestion, look to your own.

I only asked for your round 3 pick, that said poster intimated wasn’t likely to be used to come back our way.

So to clarify, take it up with someone else.

The list manager is a different role to the recruiting manager. Obrien is doing both and has been in our recruiting department for 30 years. He has his flaws, but I'm pretty sure he was head of recruiting for most of the drafts that gave us our 2018 flag. It's not like he's an ammo.

List management is about managing contracts/delistings etc. We don't have anything too complicated in that space this year. However, we should still get a much better credentialled person in next year.

I'm not sure which role handles things like trades and pick swaps etc. I suspect the list manager takes the lead, which is a bit concerning, but I'm sure Nisbett can cover this. He did it last year and we ended up with that nice swap of first rounders with Port that got us an extra 2nd this year.
Compare that with some of the deals Freo got over the past few years and we are definitely amateurs. Freo currently have a pick around 15 and the next one is in the 70s. This has been the case for a few years now as they have traded away future picks and have been able to get good pick for players leaving. Somehow they will end up with a good deal again as Bell is a good manager. their NGAs are also good and basically free kicks but we don't appear to have any or don't value them enough

West Coast

Schofield: Ruckman

First and foremost, healthy players! Let’s be honest, anyone in state league footy around the country that is fit and able, with a clean injury history, is on the Eagles’ watchlist.

With the injury to Nic Naitanui and Nathan Vardy’s unexpected departure at the end of last season, West Coast’s ruck depth has been exposed badly in 2022. Their ruck depth chart currently sits at Bailey Williams, a forward who can play in the ruck but it’s not his best position; Cal Jamieson, a rangy utility who can play at either end or even on a wing, but just doesn’t have the body to be an every-week ruckman; finally, Luke Strnadica, added in the SSP, a ruckman from the WAFL whose body hasn’t been able to stand up to the rigours of weekly AFL as yet. He’s definitely a future option for the Eagles and was probably the best available locally – but what big men are there interstate?

Bidding can actually add a bit more value to your later picks as it takes picks out of the equation in the matching process
We have the two highest rated father son or academy kids in this years draft.

It will likely take four or five picks to match Ashcroft. Basically every pick that we take to the draft.

Then we’ll have to match a bid on Fletcher late first round or early second round, pushing all our picks to the back of the draft.

So, after matching our two father son kids, we’ll be making the last picks on night two.

I don't think the stats told the full story I watched him closely he is such a presence in the middle.

Harrased the ball carrier stayed on his toes puts blocks on spreads fast second and third efforts..

I'm a fan boy !!!
Same. Be a bit devo if he went to North. Jhye Clark and Tsatas aren't bad too.

In the same article at Code Sports.
Cherny: The Eagles have tended to look local with their mid-season and rookie picks. There are holes everywhere on this list and West Coast simply needs to bring in talent, including in the midfield. Jake Florenca has already had a taste at AFL level this year as a top-up and would have to be a consideration. The Eagles also have interest in West Adelaide’s Josh Carmichael, who looks certain to be snapped up by someone.

The Eagles may consider drafting Jake Florenca if they’re looking to bolster their midfield. The Eagles may consider drafting Jake Florenca if they’re looking to bolster their midfield.

I'm not saying it's the best option but for Brisbane it gives the opportunity to pickup Ashcroft and Wardlaw.

Why would you give up pick 1 and our future 2nd which will probably be 19 for 2 1sts from Brisbane which will likely be in the 15-18 range lol?

You're forgetting that Freo was trading out top 10 picks because they weren't playing finals. They also blew them on a bunch of shit trades (Hogan, Lobb, Hill) and got more picks from losing good players (Neale, Langdon, Cerra). They would probably be in a much better spot if they kept their players and hit the draft. I think they're going to need another mini rebuild to be able to contend, as they are lacking KPF and prob need a bit more young midfield talent for Mundy and Fyfe's looming retirement.
