Even though it's a joke, it is telling of our year that we have no AA players in the final squad. 95% of our team has been down on their previous form. At least 1 of Libba, Dale, Richards, English or Naughton should have made the extended squad.

Rozee came fifth in the coaches votes. Would've got the most from R5-R23

Much has been said about Zorko crossing the line. Which he did. But watching the game, I thought it was clear that Melbourne players were very much on the front foot with the verbal stuff and the harassment of Zorko. Which is consistent with what we know about this Melbourne team. They are tossers.

What would be hilarious is if we somehow managed to win the flag without a single representative. Long shot I know but I do like long shots.

And let's say it came to pass, should the AA Team then be announced post finals.

To me, a lot of these awards and honours mean SFA.

It’s the worst side selection in my memory (although bont and macrae not being in there was totally correct)

Hawkins as captain is the lazy choice. Because there were weaknesses in the teams in which captains made it (either the teams underperformed or showed some lack of composure) they went with a left field choice and honoured a long standing player.

Problem is that they did this simply for the purpose of getting a captain in the squad in this case and he didn’t deserve to be there (Lynch did). Reminds me of the Selwood AA captaining except it’s worse as Hawkins isn’t actually a captain.

Max Gawn is a captain isn’t he?

I thought he would have got the gig to be honest

I was very critical when I thought Petty’s mum was actually terminally ill. She isn’t though and now it’s just a standard abusive non sequitur and I’m shocked at the fragile (glass jaw) reaction.

Agree but you know how it is. The perception is that they underperformed in the second half of the season and the off field stuff is seen as a failure of leadership.

He also got it last year and they love the drama and sharing it around.
