Jackson is probably worth two top 10 picks but that doesn’t mean they’ll get that for him.
I'm always of the thought that if your player wants out early days (1-3 years) then you likely lose them for unders.

Taken at #3 Right or wrongly could have gone anywhere 3-10
Starring from day 1 you can ask for more. Extremely rare (Walsh, Judd, Rowell)
Playing and contributing keeps that trade value the same. ( Anderson, Jackson, Ash, Young, Serong, Green)
Running around in the reserves for 3 years and the value plummets. (McAsey, Henry, Stephens, Flanders)

Has a game ever inflated a players standing than last years GF for Jackson?

We are talking about a guy who had an equivalent year to Bailey Williams.

He isn’t a proven quantity yet, would be worth pick 10 at best.

360 is so shallow...and he could go to WC, they've got 2 & 20, that'll get it done...not the slightest bit of discussion re do they need a player like Jacko or are there other positions that are more crucial at the moment, same re they're talk of him going to freo, not a single mention of their glaringly obvious need of a fwd line.

The rumour was when Blakeley signed his three year deal in 2019, Ed Langdon was about to sign a new deal to keep him at Fremantle. It was then discovered that Blakely was shagging Landon's missus, but because Blakely had just signed a three year deal they couldn't get rid of him without a massive payout.

So that's why Langdon moved to the Demons, and why Blakely has largely been frozen out for the last three years.

Again, it's just rumour. Blakely not getting a game could also be down to the fact he's terrible
My favourite part is where the Dockers sign Blakely to a three year deal

As late as last night, Jackson to Fremantle was considered a foregone conclusion. Freo had pitched a role as a supersized mid or something s**t that had Jackson all excited

All of a sudden, he’s now just wanting to return to WA. It’s interesting that it’s based on a release from Melbourne who’s interests are best served by a bidding war. Nothing direct from Jackson or his management

Still think he goes to Fremantle

Do find it funny now though that some people mocked Nisbett for saying he still considered us a chance of landing Jackson. So whilst it may well be time for him to move on, perhaps he still does have some idea of what he’s doing.
Says it all

Just don’t see how the Jackson deal gets done if Dees want 2x first rounders.

Freo surely won’t give up their 1st rounders from 2022 and 2023 (hope they do) and not sure how they build enough draft currency off the players they are giving up unless they get a 1st rounder for Lobb. One of both Acres and Logue might scrape in for a late 2nd.

Either way there’s a lot of admin to be done to get all those players from Freo to new homes before having the pics ready for Dees.

Eagles really don’t seem keen on him and we’ve made it clear we’re heading to the draft.

Jackson has clearly nominated to return home so at least one club has a handshake agreement to make it happen, no chance his manager would burn the bridge with Melbourne if there wasn’t.

Would love to see it all go belly up and we nab him in the PSD

A key forward, but can't see us giving up Darling or Allen.

I'm not sure to be honest, ppls views vary on his value. Mine I think pick 2 and 26.

Pick 2 on its own (if we offered it, which we wont imo) would surely get it done. Freo couldn't top it and if Melbourne rejected it we have the much talked about PSD threat.

Jackson is probably worth two top 10 picks but that doesn’t mean they’ll get that for him.

I have a Holden that I thinks worth 50k but noone will give me more than 20 ;)

I do get what you're saying, but ultimately someone/thing is only worth what someone else will pay

Freo or WC aren't paying two top 10 picks for him

An Holdens are ok but if the buyer needs a motor bike they are not going to pay anything for a holden - unless its so undepriced that its a gift.

AFL 360 are simply Vic centric flogs. It's systemic and in their DNA , they simply cant help themselves.

It's why I and many others stopped watching them.

And the reason why the club has come out and said pick 2 wont be involved? If we need to trade we would split that pick because we can still beat Freo's offer and likely retain a late 1st rounder. Also means we dont need to ask the AFL permission. Not that AFL House would care as they would be more than happy for us to pay overs.

Freo can easily bring in another 1st.

Can we just stop posting that they cant.

Just look atthe players that are walking. Lobb and Logue will land a late 1st or early 2nd. Logue to the Swans, they have two late 1sts.

Even if they all go for 2nd rounders they then have Meek looking likely to go the GWS. Add a current 2nd or even add a 2022 2nd plus a 2023 2nd they easily get one of the Giants later 1sts they will hold. Geelongs 1st they traded for Brahn?

Then you have the Lions who will happily trade out their 1st for a points upgrade.

Worse case Freo use their 2022 and 2023 1sts.

They may struggle to trade in a top 10 pick but a later 1st wouldnt be difficult. They will pay a high price for it though.

Explain how his year was so much better that one is worth nothing and one worth two first rounders.

Jackson’s hype is purely off potential, so I’m just not sure why everyone is acting like he’s a guarantee.

Jackson has shown he isnt a bust. He has proven how good he can be. So it isnt purely potential.

We are still debating if Bailey will make it. Has Bailey ripped a game apart and carried theteam to victory? Has Bailey played several games as #1 ruck and dominated? No. He has shown glimpses of quality and has steadily improved. Still a fair way to go but decent potential for an undersized, athletic ruck / forward.

Robbo seemed more in touch with Jackson’s form and worth. Gerard just always being Vic centric didn’t surprise

Pieman gave an emphatic, John Hughes style “absolutely” when asked by Gossage whether we were genuinely in the market for Luke Jackson.

Took this from the Jackson trade thread, looking at this makes me very, very depressed. Our list profile is all out of whack. Pretty much all of our best players are 27 and over and almost all of our players below 27 are largely trash :pensive:
