Every player that been on OBYB has said Griff Logue is intimidating as a first impression. Which basically means he bullies the young blokes. Plus he is a show off and has a high impression of himself even though he ain’t that good.
Lobb bakes every player when a ball is delivered within a 5cm radius of his hands as he won’t dive for it.
Acres, I have heard from an inside source is a bit of a s**t stirrer - not in a fun, joking way
Griff did come across as a bit of a douche on the podcasts. Especially the one with Noddy. I dont get all the grief with him going. He was borderline best 22 and we invested heavily to pick him and get his body right. He never repayed that investment so for me, he is a bust. Catch ya Griff...bit over ya champ.

I can not believe the lynching of Logue in this thread, yes it is incredibly disappointing to be losing him but the bloke has been offered a godfather offer, under the AFL's era greatest coach and in a team where his position at fullback is guaranteed for the next 6 years. I would to see how many of you would knock back an extra 200k to do the same job but somewhere else.

He would have been stupid not to take that opportunity and I'm sure the coaching staff and playing group are mature enough to see that, at the end of the day this is their lives we are talking about and they have to make the most out of the 12ish years they are in the AFL industry.

It stings a lot and we have to address the yearly best 22 players leaving but as for Logue as a person, I say good luck to him and wish him well.

He did give me a vibe he thought he was easily best 22 but having said that, this is an AFL team - guys need to back themselves in and believe they are best 22.

Of course he was going to leave. 5 years 700K doesnt mean he is not a dick cos deep down he knows he isnt worth anything near that.

Have to be honest, while I think we can absorb the hit to the squad, it's a bit disheartening to see the club get constantly picked at year after year. Club "culcha" is seemingly in a better place now than when Neale and Langdon left and it's good that management aren't dishing out inflated contracts on the back of once decent season but an uneventful trade period would be handy. Freo are evidently an easy target and I would hope that there are long-term plans to preserve the core group that are going to carry the team to its next flag tilt.

On a completely unrelated note, I look forward to seeing Oscar Allen being shopped around in a couple of years' time. Regardless of the club he currently plays for.

Freo have youngsters at Peel waiting for their opportunity, Acres and Tucker had to go.
Lobb out at 30 years old and Jackson in at 21 , no brainer.
Logue is liked and well respected but he wasn't in the best back six.
Chapman or Hughes can cover down back and Amiss or Sturt forward.
We had to lose players to accommodate the guns at Peel playing or the kids start looking around. Its what happens when you have a stacked list.

agree 100%. Do people think Erasmus and Johnson will be happy playing in the 2s for another couple of years? Even Henry is looking for more opportunity (which surely will come now that Acres is moving on).

Right move to have a proven talent developer guide our young midfield, particularly given the strong relationships he has already built. The midfield will be the single biggest determining factor in our push for a premiership in the coming years.

SEN in Melbourne this morning had Tim Gossage prattling on about the exodus at Fremantle and how damaging it is/will be. That guy is just an Eagles fanboi with a mic.
He gave no context to the Logue/Acres trade requests, mentioned nothing about the why Lobb is leaving and said that Freo are really in a dark hole if they don't get Jackson.
Prat.

The campaigner just doesn't give up with his relentless hatred of Fremantle does he?

The fact he still claims he is a saints supporter is honestly laughable.

yeah i'd hope most of our list believe they should be in the b22

I remember a story of Griff trying to steal Blake’s dog in retaliation to something and getting bitten (lol) a lot of these guys still have that high school mentality.

Sorry folks, I’ve reconsidered my stance on Schache and I say get him in.

“At 25 years of age, he stands at 271cm and 94kg, that makes him a key forward.”

He was happy to act as a public face for the club, then left for money. No matter how much it helps his personal finances it also hurts his reputation.

I take full responsibility! This is all my fault - I’m the one who brings misfortune by backing the wrong players. I gave away my Conca badge, and can’t find my Logue badge. I couldn’t get a Clark badge (breathes sigh of relief).
What do I do with my Fyfe,Ryan and Aish badges?? 😟

I don't have a problem with Griff going. Wanted to sign early in the year on a modest contract. He can see he's behind a number of players to play in the back line. Gives everything hes got every time he plays but he's not a natural forward.

North has come along with a big cheque book, things are improving at North with Clarkson as coach. Why wouldn't he jump at it?!

Hope we can get decent compensation for him but I don't blame him.
