Phillipou is a big yes, can do it all. Much better prospect than Humphrey to me. Both have pretty high potential ceilings but Humphrey has a much lower floor for me. Meaning he could easily be a flop whereas I can't see Phillipou being anything less than a B grader in the AFL.
Agree, Mattaes will be a gun, at 192cm, just 5 days off draft eligibility 2023, hard at it , good in the air, athletic and a good beautiful accurate kick.
In Austin we trust, come draft night, should there be a possibly to snap him up , p10 & F2nd should be on the table, for a better postion.

Think we should trade up to get him. Would love to get 7 off Geelong after the Bowes deal goes through.

If he slips to our second pick do we take Brayden George despite his two significant knee injuries this year and us having a lot of injury prone types?

I’ll quote this again coz it’s such a ripper resource. On Page 47 for those looking.

Now you draft gurus. #25 - Harry Lemmey. Why not?
Lemmey was a top prospect this time last year - talked about in the top 5. His 2022 hasn't been great, and he's been falling. So yes, he's still at 25 on my list, but wouldn't be surprised to see him fall lower. If he goes that high, it's likely to Port or Adelaide.

Note - my rankings are calculated, I'm not a draft guru by any means. I pull data from a number of sources and assign a point value to each, and rankings are done by points.

Serious question, who was the last bottom ager who really made it?

Just had a quick look, and perhaps there's something in this. There's not a lot of December-birth players who stand out in recent years. As Crazy Joe says above, Harry is one (and Jack Silvagni same year). Jack Carroll is a December babe. Jack Ginnivan from the Pies, and Bailey Smith from the Dogs.

Interesting. Harry the only AA there I think?

That would obviously have to be stress tested against bottom ages taken high who didn’t make it

Wasn’t Weiters as well, from the same draft we had 3 laties. Only DC & CC early months.
Marchbank was a Dec b’day too in ‘14.

It’s just a late birthday not bottom age like Franklin, Danger etc were.
Someone like Pillipou for instance is virtually a year younger then Holland. It can make a big difference. I know it was shot down on here but someone like Stocker was very old for his age group, finished school and was a massive man child when drafted. I think things like that are probably looked at closely by clubs.
