That's fine as long as after picks 15 and 18 you're comfortable with picking at 49. Even if we wanted to package up 49 and the pick for Setters, I doubt anyone would do it for a decent pick inside the top 40.
??? In my scenario we go from 10, 29, 49 to 15, 18, 49. We are better off. Can’t see GWS giving up 18 and 19 for 10 alone. Their next pick is then 44. They just lost a pile of players. 1, 15, 18, 19 is waaaaaaaaaay better for them than 1, 10, 15, 44.

I personally think we will keep 10 or whatever it becomes. I doubt anyone trades down with us in the current trade landscape. Trade down for us is our only option to better our draft hand and it needs to be insatiable.

We probably have a target or two in the Top group, but so does all the teams who finished below us.

Anyway it’s all speculative and honestly, I don’t care who we take at 10. The club will have done their due diligence and could take all different types. I’ve got no idea what our targets would be. I think our team is a contender and our first pick will be added cream.

North should trade pick 1 to a club that won't take Cadman. I wonder if there's a club with a couple of Coleman medallists on long term contracts?
Would u not take him anyway?
Take him, hold for a year, learning under 2 of the best forwards in the game & if he comes on u trade for 2 top 10 picks next year.
Left field strategy but could be very lucrative.

Just my uneducated opinion - but if we’re interested, he’ll be there at 10. He’s not elite at anything, if anything, to me, he’s a tweener. Too heavy and slow for a mid or high HF. Too small for a KP. He’s a U18 bully. Just not getting the hype.

I know this may be controversial, but footy is a brutal game full of highs and lows.
The article in the Hun earlier this week about Humphris ongoing mental health issues and what happened to his best mate is a concern to me.

I won’t be surprised if he’s there later in the top 20

You have identified Humphrey's worst case but his upside is somehere between De Goey and Stuart Dew in the 2008 GF. Humphrey's upside wins finals. Carlton do not have that mid/fwd game breaker

I rate Humphrey - he seems like he is a competitive beast. I worry about his kicking. I also worry he is a manchild who bullies the skinny kids but at AFL level he will just be a slow half forward, not tall enough for a key position, log jammed behind our current inside mids, and not enough tricks to be a medium forward.

I want pace, zip and skills or a key defender type like Hayes or Busslinger. Hayes reminds me of Harris Andrews.

And when he misses multiple shots at goals, people will then state its mental weakness

I really like Humphrey's attributes, and he is Dangerfield like, but has a poor tank and there are a number of concerns with his kicking technique

His ball drop is high, and his kicking foot comes from behind his planted foot, rather than a pendulum in line with the target

Clean that up and would be a dangerous player, if it can't be fixed, then he is only an inside mid with poor foot disposal

No, wouldn't take him
l believe he will most likely go before 10, as he looks to have the capability to play mid & forward, alot of clubs will back in their systems to improve his kicking efficiency as he is one player that can potentially looks to have that x factor which are difficult to find.

Endurance definitely can be improved with the right attitude & commitment at a strong development club environment.

l am sure many clubs will do their due diligence on him the next month before the draft next month.

I too believe he will be gone by our pick, which suits as there are others I prefer which could slide

Not sure where the idea of Humphrey being slow has come from? He's got many issues in regards to his kicking and decision making but he's as explosive off the mark as anyone in the draft. In fact that's probably his best trait as a footballer

We just delisted one with a poor tank do we want another one. Give me pick 12 and 15 18 etc and gimme hayes and hotton

Dumb question, but are combine results massively overrated?

Kid has a sub 3-second sprint time. That's nice, can he actually beat his opponent to the ball and get his hands on it?
Kid has a high vertical leap. Great, has he actually shown any signs off being an aerial threat?
Kid broke the agility record, should be perfect as a small forward. Amazing, but can he actually find separation from his opponent, does he have any goal nous?

Surely if you watch a player in junior comps, you can tell if he's quick, slow, agile, finds separation, has a good reach. The attributes themselves mean nothing. We are recruiting footballers, not athletes. Now I know we need to project where kids are going to end up, and the attributes help that. And that a bunch of non-athletic kids dominate at junior level but just aren't quick/fit enough for top level.

But if you find a kid who has good footy IQ, finds the ball, uses the ball well, makes good decisions, beats his opponent to the ball and is competitive, does it matter how high he can jump and what his agility time is?
