MondayAs solid as Cal’s mail usually is, I think there’s a huge wait and see regarding the selections he has put down for the Suns and Bombers, which in turn would change the rest of the top 10.
All in all that just helps build up this fascinating draft even more. Can not wait for tomorrow night.
The year before Twomey only nailed 8 of the top 30.....and 5 of those were academy kids already linked to clubs, so basically 3 out of 25.Twomey is usually very much on the money. He nailed 12 of the first 13 picks last year. This year does seem more up in the air than others so it will be interesting to see his strike rate after the fact.
I haven’t seen any stats, but this year the top10 are pretty much locked in, with only some mix of order up for debateThe year before Twomey only nailed 8 of the top 30.....and 5 of those were academy kids already linked to clubs, so basically 3 out of 25.
I really like Twomey and Beveridge, but wouldn't take it as gospel. One draft bolter can throw the whole thing out of wack.
We talk about some players having higher floors and ceilings.Hollands in isolation looks a good pick up on both needs and pure talent, however there is also just a little bit of…. We get him and maybe his brother in 2-3 years time wants to come home to Melb to play with his brother, but also play for the club he barracked for as a kid. You could call this upside
He looks like the sort of person who would eat BBQ shapes in a bowl, instead of straight out of the box. What are peoples thoughts/opinions on Ed Allen?
You missed such a great opportunity...Regards,
A modest supporter.
I would have definitely laughed at that, but this draft does tail off, hence the estimated picks taken being in the 60s.I remember when people were saying the Weitering/Curnow/McKay draft was weak, Weitering was a terrible number one pick who would only just make the top 10 in a normal year, and next years draft was the super draft. The following year Andy McGrath was pick 1
Ok so if Phillipou doesn't slide to our pick, we're interested in trading out and potentially securing a tall and Hewett? Look if that's the way it's genuinely falling, I'm all for it.Also, from above
What about Busslinger/Allen/Jefferson at 16, Hewett and 20, and Keeler at 32?Hewett at 14 (16) and a KPF/Ruck Isaac Keeler at 17 (20) would be a great result.
Twomey makes it seem like he's being targetted in the 27-40 range. That makes sense given he looks like he needs a year or two in the gym. Talent is undeniable, so it comes down to injury history, medical concerns, and personality. What are all the fans of Isaac Keeler going to think when he's undrafted after day 2.
Twomeys phantom just dropped
If he really does have development scope I'm interested, just a question of where to play him. What are peoples thoughts/opinions on Ed Allen?
I don’t think Keeler will there at 32 Jimmea. He’s the one that I want. What about Busslinger/Allen/Jefferson at 16, Hewett and 20, and Keeler at 32?
Thanks. I (don't) try.what an absolute credit to the carlton supporters who have never mucked up in their job - never tried something new, took a risk, learnt a tactic, made a decision from the gut - makes me proud to be a part of the never-change diaspora..........
There is another reason why Carlton were a bottom two side in 2018... apart from the injury toll. After Neil Craig left, the club in its wisdom appointed a post turtle coach to the role of strategy and high performance manager... to fill the role left by Craig. We were a bottom 2 side in 2018 and nothing changed heading into 2019. GC and Carlton were the 2 spoon favourites. When was the last season that wasn't a disaster injury wise? Anyway, done with this one, I will raise a very condescending eyebrow at the Hawthorn or kangaroos war room on Monday though if they make a similar trade.
I'm conflicted over the Stocker issue. I would love to see the kid do well and fulfil his potential but at the same time would hate to see that at another club.SOS went to the US because it’s a junket these type of people get the benefit of. 14 year olds who follow American sport already know everything that SOS could learn from sitting at home on the computer.
He done the trade because we rated Stoker too high, simple as that.
