Then I guess it's about what each club deems important. Looks like we want to be all hands on deck whereas other clubs are happy for more flexibility.
I think the key part is that those two lived in Vic, where most of the action is. You’d imagine there would be far more travel involved for someone living in the Outback.

Doesn't SOS live in Noosa now
Not sure mate. Is the talk in here about bringing him back? I would love Cripps personally think he's just behind Beatson as the best list manager in the comp.

Yeah that's true aswell good point!

His last job was working for the MacQuarie Bank.

We pull him out of total obscurity to manage our playing list. A billion dollar industry and our club has its playing list run by people with "limited" experience for that role.

Yup makes total sense.
So what has he done that was so bad? FMD you people are great on criticism especially when you are clueless on what he was doing.
Not one of you haters has shown anything he has done that warrants your ignorant slagging off.
The impotent are always pure

He gave it his best to mess it up!

Keep him away from drafting!

2: O’Rourke
3: Tyson, Plowman, Dow
4: Jarrod Pickett
5: Buntine, WHE
6: SPS
7: Ahern
10: Sumner, O’Brien
12: Jaksch

That’s some of the use of top picks in his time at the two clubs! 🤮
Exactly.
wasn’t he the guy who chose Boekhurst?
Really hope we don’t take him just because of history he may have with Ross or the club.

I think he's done a fantastic job. Look at our list now compared to when he walked in. The only blemishes are Hill and Hanners, but i think those deals were already under way before he was officially brought in IIRC.

He has nailed the last two drafts, and in a half decade or so we may be looking back in them of the drafts that turned this club around.

The proof is probably in results though, back then we thought we were close as well. Still lack stars at the moment. Hopefully RTB has us firing and straightens a lot of them up and maximises potential.

Nah not required - just get stuck into him!!!

Don't know how he got the job in the first place

Pretty much what I suggested. He got the job because his mate gave it to him. Perhaps we weren't attractive to experienced operators and he was all we could get though.

Perth is well below the outback, look at the lack of intelligence in some on this very board (Dard Ball Get )

May as well get your education from the cat
Well, well, well if it isn’t the VPA (Victorian Parasite Association) coming at Dard for the umpteenth time!
Must be the cold taking its toll.
I love Victoria.

I can see why some would if they have nothing else going on, however 😎

Absolute nonsense. 40 games with Adelaide, 200+ games with Norwood, a decade in finance.

So a football person who can manage finances - perfect background for the Head of List Management position.

Theres only one question to ask to work out whether he did his job effectively or not - Is our list in a better position now than what is was when he started?

My answer is categorically a big big YES.

And your answer is?
Doesn't matter, he had never held that exact position before so needs to be completely condemned no matter how well he went.
People who have never worked in football or finance seem to know all about though.

Could care less about Gallagher thought he was ok, club thought they wanted someone else, so be it, just the criticism by people with no idea of the job itself is pretty piss weak IMO.

He was like Trout in that he was given a job that he wasn't up to. Talent identification is like alchemy. You can't bluff it.

I think Lyon wants his man inside the club and perhaps we can use him in a more strategic role and delegate the recruiting stuff to the people who are are actually paid to do it. The finance stuff will become harder as we improve and players will expect compensation and if we improve they will be chased by other clubs. Hopefully he can do that.

Perhaps Lyon wants SOS in because he can add the pieces he thinks he needs without protest? If Lyon works out we have moved into a different phase and we should be adding decorations on to a solid core rather than building a core. The danger is that the list is still shit and we step backwards for year trying to sprinkle more glitter on a turd.

Ah yes, exactly what a jealous loserboy from WA would say. Australia goes as Victoria goes, old chap. We've banished you to basically South Africa, take the hint would ya?

Yes I agree...it does...and we are going to look pretty silly if we do win the premiership next year....he will be elevated to mythical status......but up until now its been a pretty rocky road...but then it always is 5 mins before the miracle!
And maybe up until this possible miracle ...maybe competitive is all we could have been........maybe its all been a means to an end???

The joke is on you deep fried, we get another three months to wear black wool and drink coffee in laneways amongst the hobo piss, uncollected syringes and rubbish and graffiti that we think is art.

So basically no-one should comment on anything that they don't have experience in? The forum would be pretty boring at that point.

He didn't get everything right or wrong but the club seems to have thought that he made moves that made the rebuild take longer by the sound of it. There were rumours that the report hadn't painted his role in the best light which seems to be consistent with moving him on.

I am jealous that I rarely get the opportunity to wear my trench and pea coats here. The hobo piss and syringes I can do with out, I’ll leave that to the Greek Dumpling.
Coming across for Anzac Day and us v Blues in April, keep your eyes peeled for the Jason Statham type operator.

That’s all well and good, but what about the ratio of Fremantle and West Coast Eagle fans to normal people, between the two locations? 🤔

You must have to walk around like this:

You’re not wrong mate. Freo is basically the St Kilda of the West, so I can tolerate them, but WCE…

A rare mix of entitled, flaky, arrogant, ignorant and most often ugly/overweight numpties draped in horrid blue and yellow polyester plagues the joint. It’s been a quiet few years thank f*ck!
