If we go after a mid, I hope we go after an elite ball user. Someone who can hit players lace out.

I think Owens and Windy will give us plenty of grunt in there.

Of course if there's someone that excels in both areas, all the better.

Most of the time I take the piss on here. But I've got a very legit rumour on a trade/free agent target.
I got told we are looking closely at ben Ainsworth. Potentially via free agency when his contract expires next season

We should go hard for Parish as an FA. Keep draft picks for the draft. Although if Parish leaves the injectors I reckon he’s off to the Cats.
Essendon or Hawthorn perfect for players like Parish. Eugh. Will probably end up at Freo now that Melbourne players are no longer mummy's boys. Do not want.

Not sure why we would be vomiting about getting a FA midfielder. Our three main mids are Steele (27), Crouch (29) and Ross (soon to be 30) without many proven players coming through. That’s not exactly a model for 5-10 years of success. And no I don’t lock in young players to take those spots anymore because it rarely works out the way we think it will. I’d take Parish and trust Ross to get the rubbish disposals out of his game like Mitchell is doing at the Pies.

I’d rather wank with a barbed wire glove than deal with Dildoro and the Injectington Clown Show.

Anyway, in my view he’s a stats superstar. Gets big numbers, often does 2/5ths of **** all with them.

If you keep drafting mids you end up with enough functional ones.

Clark, Bytel, Byrnes, Owens, Windhager, Philipou, Hotton, +, + , +.

You can't buy a footy team with our Salary Cap system. At some point you need to back your drafting and development.

Don't have to deal with the other club over a FA. Even as restricted, it's only if they match, and at that stage we should walk away.

IMO we're going back to the draft this year.

The 2023 OOC I’ve done before, but;

OOC 2024
Hugh McCluggage (RFA)
Andy McGrath (RFA)
Isaac Cumming (RFA)
Blake Hardwick (RFA)
Connor Rozee
Xavier Duursma
Oliver Florent (RFA)

If you want the best % disposal efficiency…

Plus Jack Ginnivan, Josh Daicos, Archie Perkins, Logan McDonald, Nick Larkey, Aaron Naughton, and Bailey Smith

Still no.

I reckon dealing with Dodoro would be minimal. He’s a FA.

And I reckon we shouldn’t turn our noses up. Just because he’s not Dusty, Oliver or Petracca doesn’t mean that he’s not a very good player.

Get him out if that cesspool of cluster s**t f***ery, and he could be a very worthwhile player.
Not an Essington manlet either.

I disagree. He’s a very good player. Not elite, but very good.

And put him under the tutelage of RTB and he goes up several levels.
You want a Parish, get ordained.

F**k ‘im. Now and forever. Amen.

Turning their nose up at Parish you’d think we were already running Hayes, Harvey & Winmar through the middle.

Imagine what RTB could do with this bloke (non manlet). Do we really think he’s not good enough for us?!

I don't think Parish suits the long term strategy. There's an understandable temptation to plan a run at it while Steele/Sinclair etc are around, but I think we have to plan long term. King, Phillipou, Owens, Windhager, NWM, Byrnes, Caminiti finally gives us a young core to build around. It has been a couple of decades since we had a core of young talent that we could do that with.

Prioritise Phillipou, Windhager and Owens' development as midfielders. That's not to say we can't be a good team in the next few years, but I think being patient with those three midfielders gives us our best chance of sustained contending.

No to Parish for me.

He just isn't the bloke we need to be investing that sort of salary cap space into.

Would much rather keep the blokes we have and keep hitting the draft.

Would be nice if as we continue to improve we can even snag a couple of decent picks for players who get squeezed out (ala Benny Long).

King, Owens, NAS, Windhager, Philipou and Caminiti (not to mention some of the blokes waiting their turn, particularly Keeler) are the core we need to build around.

If we do this well, we might be able to be in contention while they're on the way up and then again when they're in their peak.

I would want to look at what hawthorn did right between 2008-2012 and what we did wrong from 2006-2010.
