What the hell is going on Blue Baggers?

Our rivalry used to be so fierce and vitriolic. Now lots of you seem to grudgingly expect defeat on Sunday and worse still, almost seem to regard us with some degree of respect or, dare I say it, admiration. That’s just not acceptable.

It’s like there’s been a break in the space-time continuum and I’ve driven the DeLorean straight into a parallel universe.

I suggest a teaspoon of concrete is in order. We can’t allow this to deteriorate into a tepid, passionless rivalry. I can assure you that Collingwood still hates Carlton with a passion, so you all need to lift and keep up your end of the deal.

Good luck on Sunday. Nah, not really. Pies by 48pts!

Sorry but we don't accept dietary tips from Pies supporters.

By the way, there’s a double “t” in the middle of “tattoos”.

Mightn’t have all my teeth but I can spell.

Teaspoon of concrete?!?

Is that part of a pies’ fan diet?

Would explain the disproportionate lack of teeth among you lot.

I hate Collingwood. That clubs supporters cost the hard working Carlton tax payers so much money in Job Seeker payments.

We need 3 of our players to run through the Collingwood quarter time huddle and really get the party started!!!

This current group of introverts causing a kerfuffle? The sun will sooner rise from the west.

I reckon this will be a bit of a shit-show this week. Cant see us beating them and wouldnt surprise if it was a 3-4 goal margin for most of it with a late blow out and 40 point loss. There is no chance in hell Voss will or should be sacked, you have to back in your decision to hire him for more than 18 months, but the drums will start beating louder after this game (about the whole club, especially the playing group)

We just arent any good this year and they are a well oiled machine. ****ing shits me how good they are even adfter selling away so many of the 'stars' because of salary cap issues......whats our cap like again? can we sell off some of our 'stars'?

You see videos of them getting a pep talk from a players mum prior to the game and see how relaxed they all are - most relaxed club in all of footy. You see us they are all tight as a drum.

McCrae on the Bench relaxed as. Player kicking out grubs one straight to the opponent who kicks a goal and they all laugh about it because it was told to them before the game to not worry about a turnover and laugh about it and move on. (turnovers happen, dont let it ruin your game)

Our players should be positively cacking themselves then ....

I can assure you that the hatred and loathing of your putrid club is still well and truly alive.

You were just dumb lucky to get the points Rd 23 last year and you know our best can beat your rabid lot.

I can feel a massive upset coming with Crippa and Walshy going full beast mode and tearing your mid field to shreds.

Charlie and BIG H kicking ten between them and the MIGHTY BLUE BOYS getting the points.

Then you might feel like you've driven your DeLorean into a poll. But seriously who is kidding themselves.
Talk about a parallel universe.

Everybody knows the great majority of Collingwood supporters can't even drive due to too illiteracy, unable to pass the written test.

The few that could actually read have lost their license's for drink/drug driving.

So you can shove your cement up your ar-e where it will at least plug one of your noxious holes and
I look forward very much to maintaining the pious disrespect of your deeply despised and abhorrent team.

I feel I speak for the majority of the Carlton faithful in saying....... **** OFF!!!

Is that enough vitriolic admiration for you......... :thumbsu:

I do agree with this sentiment largely but you would have to say our boys are under a bit more pressure this year given our start compared to the Pies players who are coming off a prelim and started 8-1. Nonetheless, would love to see the players play with a bit more enjoyment on field - you can see it in players like Charlie, Owies, Cottrell so hoping we see it spread to the others.

Needs to start with this week - may sound silly but just start with simple stuff. Every tackle that forces a stoppage have multiple players go up to the tackler and acknowledge the effort. Every spoil same thing. Every goal no matter where from celebrate like its your first goal in footy and swamp whoever kicks it with players. I want Weitering running from defence to congratulate the player.

As fans we play an important role as well. As much as I love Carlton fans and think we are the best supporter base in the comp we can't just go quiet when we have a couple of goals against us. Need to do our part to keep the energy up. Stop the sighs of the crowd if there is a turnover or the fake excitement when someone hits a kick in the corridor. And only clapping for Charlie, Saad and Cripps when they announce the players needs to change. All of this sounds like nothing but would have a huge positive impact the players.

No doubt is it the chicken or the egg? - are they relaxed because they are sitting on top or is a big part of the reason they are on top due to them being such a relaxed, well oiled footy club.....

As long as we haven't spent the whole week focusing on one particular aspect of the game, nail that but the other things fall away. Our current form line of the last month dictates we're not doing too well, lacking confidence, and a build up of mistakes during a period of the games sends the collective into a mental downhill spiral.

Would be nice if JSOS could bring in dad this week, heal some rifts and talk about Serge and SOS's eras where the rivalry meant something, for sadly I just don't think the current group bar JSOS is really invested in this rivalry as it's been so one sided for most of the last 20 years.

From Voss' and Cripps' pressers etc, don't think we'll change things up. "Execution"... and Voss will just stick fat and hope the "execution" occurs. Problem is against a high pressure side like Collingwood "execution" is going to be tough. Weagles had bugger all pressure for a lot of the game and we saw what happened. North had great pressure for 2.5 quarters and only broke away for a good 20 mins when they were gassed. Ross's teams always bring pressure... Adelaide were ferocious.

Opposition coaches against us just have to focus on maintaining a reasonable semblance of pressure and that's a promising step towards victory against us.

TBH we hate you but we need you, it's like spy vs spy.

Essendon on the other hand... burn it all with fire, salt the earth at Tullamarine, make sure nothing ever lives there again.

Also let's be honest your best player is a Carlton fan and you're playing great football to watch, sickening as the jumper is

Yeah! That’s more like it! Good to see that you haven’t all lost the fire in the belly.

I agree that you’ll win if Charlie and Harry collectively kick ten goals. But 5-7 feels much more likely, in which case who will kick the other 8-10 that you’ll likely need?

(BTW, I think you meant to say that I might feel like I’ve driven my DeLorean into a pole, rather than a poll? But you’re the literacy expert.)

Good luck, Blue Baggers! Hope to see you all still in the stadium in the last quarter.

While I think this side is capable of beating the Pies, it would take a complete form reversal to do so. I can't recall a single game that we've played well in this year (West Coast game doesn't count for obvious reasons).
Wish we could make the right calls on the team selection too.
Dropping Kemp, while keeping Ed in, then playing our best mid off half back for his worst game. We had Saad, Newman and Cincotta down back. Nothing wrong with keeping Kemp in with Gov, who are both fairly agile and attacking. If we use past weeks as any kind of forecast, Cerra will now be dropped, like Kennedy was.
And taking Hollands out to get one effective disposal from Ed in half an hour on the ground... genius.

Doc has been great in his time in the guts, but time to let the mids mid and put Doc back to his natural position. Give him spurts in the middle to change things up. Time for Ed to go back the VFL. Maybe give Cincotta a rest and bring Kemp back in. Cottrell or Hollands as the sub.
