Dont like the idea of a backline with DGB-Blank-Frost... None are great by footy. And DGB hasn't done much at Box Hill to warrant it.
Scrim the perfect replacement for Sicily for me.. Can intercept incredibly well and is great by foot.
Blanck and DGB are perfectly fine by foot, I dunno where people get this view from.

Any chance we can put glasses and a mustache on Sicily and pretend he’s someone else?

DGB is a brilliant kick of the footy. One of his key features when drafted.
My preference would be for DGB. To give him exposure again and I think he can play that role. Howver, his kicking in the first quarter for Box Hill was very poor.

Scrimma if Sicily misses seems reasonable.

Huge game by Long, no idea who he could replace however.

Interesting if Ward is straight in. Bramble would be super stiff to lose that wing spot after his past two games.

Not great reading for vocal best 22 Harry posters.
He is struggling this year mostly injured pre-season. Lost a bit of confidence over the last few games. He is not best 22 currently. Like quite a few others. The game doesn't wait for anyone.

Nope, don't you understand that it's literally impossible for you to change your opinion when form changes. Impossible.

Think it's a really healthy sign that we have a list that puts pressure on starting 22 players that if they don't perform, they're out.

Harry is a good player, and he's not getting a game. Bodes well for future. Ditto for Scrimshaw.

Ditto for likes of Long who is strong at BHH and keeping the pressure on the those players in the seniors.

Watching it again, Sicily costs us a goal by choosing to bump.

The Hawks should appeal to have the contact downgraded to "Low" so it's only a fine. Then impose a 2-game club suspension on Siciliy for such a selfish and silly choice. Sure, Caminiti deserves to be cleaned up repeatedly, but not when it costs our team in a close game.

Or, we could appeal and have our top-notch defense team get the charge upgraded to a lifetime ban for attempted murder.

If we’re replacing like for like then Scrim gets the nod as the intercept defender with the most effective disposal, followed by DGB
If we’re selecting on BoxHill form then Long comes in but Day would have to go back (thus robbing our midfield strength)
Will be interesting to see which way Sam goes

1 Hawk against 3 Saints and you're saying that Sicily cost us that goal for what he did?

That was a goal regardless, if Caminiti hadn't pulled back then Sic's decision there was probably the only way we were going to not concede a goal.

Day has been a revelation as a mid. No way he's going back to cover anyone

Sis replacement comes out of Scrim, CJ or DGB

Nonsense.

Have a look at where the ball travels.

Caminiti taps it forward and prepares for contact by trying to avoid the worst of the contact and starting to dive.

Have a look at where Sicily ends up because he chooses to bump. The multiple angles show it clearly, he speeds up and ends up several metres past the ball.

If Sicily hadn't chosen to bump (which was clearly the wrong option) and instead opted to contest the ball, he'd be right next to Higgins (who nearly fresh airs the ball.) At worst he gets in Higgins' way and the outcome is different.

You're just wrong on this one.

Sicily still makes bad decisions, even though he's our captain, and even though he had the game of his life.

Caminiti "taps" the ball? You mean fumbles? Do players often tap the ball with both hands in a way that looks completely like they're going to pick it up?

Watch the thing in slow motion enough and it'll look like Sicily had time to stop for a cup of tea, assess his options and then bump. Watch it in real time and you see a player who's attacking the ball, bracing for contact and to compete for the ball. You'll also see Caminiti, who was chasing the ball from a different angle, spot Sicily and then falter. What else do you propose Sicily does in the half a second he had to assess his options once Caminiti fumbled?
