Player Watch Pick #14 (2019) - Miles Bergman

The question now is where does he settle down, in what position.

He is a great backman and we need him at the moment but he could be better used on the wing or in the midfield, if he has that type of craft.

I wonder where he ends up playing. I really rate him as an intercepting backman and hope he plays there for the rest of the year.

But down the track I could see him as a centre square midfielder similar to Rory Sloane.

I don’t see him as a winger though.

Was that last question from an Advertiser "journo" who saw the MG logo on our Guernsey and figured it's about Mitch?

This is an opinion-based forum, isn't it?? Don't rate him as highly as others, butchers the footy which escapes criticism. Others are smashed for it but this kid slides under the radar. I'm keeping him accountable unlike most on this site. And Yes I'm fine, thanks for asking!

I'm all for opinions but you've got to know when to hold 'em and know when to fold 'em. Bergman has been excellent this year.

Gone......no doubt about it.

Strong opinion. Seemed more like a statement of fact. Anyway, can you please state as fact we will not win the flag this year.

You aren't wrong, but the damage of his poor disposal, as a very young kid still, doesn't outweigh all of the other elite stuff he does. If he can tidy up his disposal/decision making he'll be pushing that elite level.

You know it is a huge moment for the club and that everyone can feel the statement that this decision has made, when you get the sort of reaction that has come from it. Clubs media team is pouring the memes all over it, all the players are posting about it and the supporter base is pumped.

This was no doubt a huge signing, hopefully a big moment for our group in terms of them all sticking together. ie. the next Boak/Trengove re-signing moment.

Reminds me of the terrifying early-century Brisbane midfield, they had a group of champions who all had different strengths and ways to hurt.

JHF will be Voss
Butters is the new Black
Rozee is Akermanis
Bergman = Lappin
McEntee = Luke Power

:winkv1:
