Player Watch #21: Callum Coleman-Jones - out for season after suffering Achilles rupture vs CFC on GoodFriday - go well CCJ

Is shit.

So lets ask the question. Is Tom Campbell a better footballer or is CCJ?

He's 6'7'' and 105kg. He's literally one of about four blokes on the list who could reach the top shelf at Coles without doing an ACL. He's sticking around

And that is literally the first ever post on here to say "top shelf" and actually mean it literally.

Campbell was a better ruck and both were shit forwards.

Campbell was break glass in case of emergency and this bloke we paid a premium for, so in short Campbell in every aspect was better for our list.

Campbell was also said to be very good for the younger players on the list.

Best analogy is Campbell was a basic tomato soup and this bloke is some stale shit bread you might dip into that soup.

Went to sleep pondering the big lug that is Callum Gary Coleman Jones.

I realise big fellas take time, it makes sense, it takes longer to bend over and longer to reach up towards the heavens.
I won’t argue that. Yesterday was our best effort from a CHF we’ve seen in a while. Harvey Jnr Boomer stood tall with five contested marks.

Gary has take 11 this season so far.

I hear from my reliable sources CGCJ and Xerri have started a rap duo, it’s going well. You should check them out.

Oh they’re called Molasses.

Stop it ! It is no longer funny this is a serious situation we find ourselves in . We have a bad case of NFI

I was happy to give CCJ a good block, especially after the Sydney game where he looked pretty damn good, but my god has he shit the bed since.
I think structurally he still improves us, but from ability and actual impact, yeah nah.
He probably stays in for mine just for that structure unless we elect to go with X and goldy in which case piss him off!

I do. I did like we have him a chance.

But how many more games does he get?

Idk he’s had one sensational game this year and the rest I forget he’s even playing tbh
He gets games at least until Comben returns. We need him as a second key forward/chop out ruck. It's one of the many predicaments that is a direct result of the list management masterclass exhibited by this club in recent years

Yeah the Comben Comet , comes around every 100 years

Don’t hold your breath .

The only time this bloke is taking is game time off someone that has the potential to be AFL standard.
Are you talking about some life-size cardboard cutout which we pay runners to carry around the ground to make it look like we have key forwards waiting to be selected?

We have no-one. The cupboards are completely empty. All that is left as your hand scratches blindly around the top shelf is some out of date beef-flavoured OXO cubes from 1993 and half a handful of green split peas that somehow spilled out of their bag.

Stop with any illusions that we have any KPP depth. There is no one available. The list management team have systematically dismantled this playing group through their ineptitude.

This pic is gonna do some work, so damn good!

Wow - you are putting CCJ in the same bucket as Taz and Drew - I can see why you rated Kayne Turner so highly for so long.

Maybe you need a new hobby - you are no good at this one.
No, I am using them as examples as big men who were written off early. Find posts about these two after less than 30 games and you’ll find similar sentiments.

Not sure what Turner has to do with this: I backed him in as we had no alternatives until Spicer and now Harvey took his place: in addition he started the season well. We can all agree he is now finished.

Maybe - just maybe - the poster who sees nothing in any of our players except for obvious stars needs a new hobby? Cos it’s easy and lazy to make a call that “x won’t make it” in reaction to an average game/slow start to a career/not understanding that a side needs a variety of different positional roles played and just write off everyone who doesn’t blitz it immediately. Harder to actually identify talent worth persisting with even if they don’t get 30 touches on debut.

You’re a bit of a bloody downer you know that? You mope and whine and whinge around this joint like a bad ****ing smell. Put me on ignore if my opinions are so offensive to you.
