6.43 and still no full team. What happened to the promise of a 6.20 team release?

I wouldn't be surprised if we grub a few kicks inside 50 every quarter

This would be the game to either lower the eyes to find targets, or kick grubbers in to take Andrew’s influence away and let Hill, Ginni, Elliott and McCreery go to work

There's been a lot of talk about Frampton being the safe choice, but I think the opposite. I think he's the riskier choice but the one most likely to get us goals from bombs to the hotspot. Ginni in the same boat. I think it's a really attacking team we've picked - designed for goals. We're going to take it on. This is a team for manic attacking footy.

I think he’s the right choice. He provides the most amount of flexibility and injury cover.

Gives the option of him playing a defensive role on Andrews as a forward, provide an aerial contest up forward to stop intercept marking, ruck, play down back and Howe/Moore go forward.

Don’t think Lipinski is great call as a sub. I think he’s in the 22 or not at all. He’s not an impact player, he’s a run all day player.

Only way I see the reason is as cover for a double injury leaving us short on the bench. If he came on in the 2nd qtr he’d still be running well in the 4th.

I think Noble would give more impact and run from the backline. Would also free up IQ to intercept more.

Him and Andrews restricted McKay and Curnow to 3 goals, in a game where Carlton looked like blowing it apart early.

Andrews was excellent, maybe best on ground, but he was assisted heavily by Gardiner's contribution.

Curnow and McKay both terribly out of form. After qtr time I thought it was more Brisbanes ability to lock play in their forward half that was the biggest factor. Carlton couldn’t move the ball.

Selecting Ginnivan to me shows the positive intent. Take the game on from the outset with attacking flare - I like it a lot.

Equally I feel sad for JFN - love his story - every year someone misses out.

I'm feeling nervous and excited in equal measure.

Have my seat at the G sorted so will there on Saturday.

We can do this. WIN WIN WIN

GO PIES!!!!!!!

Ginnivan came in because they need to replace McStays goals. They don't have anyone else who can do it.

Media is going crazy about andrews now, despite brisbane backs getting towelled up by Ollue Lord only 2 games ago.

Anyway Im not worried about Andrews intercept marking - we can stop that.
I am worried about his effective punch spoils 10 metres behind or in front of the pack. Its a really effective techniques for getting quick play through marking contests. They used it well against us last time.
I trust the coaches are on top of this, and our talls control the soft drop.

Finally , I'm starting to lose the plot with anticipation now. Its kicking in.

Disagree. He comes on when both teams are tiring and gets to every contest. Giving us numbers to either lock it down if we've got a lead or an extra runner to get the running wave happening if we need to score. I think he's an ideal sub, because he's also not sharp enough for what will be most manic in the first half, so it minimises his weaknesses.

Go Ginni you good thing. All our forwards will be actual forwards on Saturday, no hiding excess midfielders in the forward line with adams out and now lipinski off to the sub bench. Lippa will be an excellent sub.

Edit…. Weather coming into play with selection here. Outside players needed.

Yep here too. Faaaaark Saturday so far away.

I've been trying to find the 2010 version of 'Good Old Collingwood Forever' sung by members of Opera Australia, but no luck. I had it on an old 1TB hard drive, but it died a while back. I did find this viola version from the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra's Anthony Chataway and it's terrific.
Does anybody have the AO version? Slim hope I know.

I'm not particularly religious but the last couple of days on the train when going past the MCG I've been crossing myself - paying respect to the religious nature of the momentous event that will take place on Saturday - no disrespect to the believers in our midst - go you beautiful things

What the pineapple-boy said.

Lipinski's lack of burst pace will be less evident when fatique has set in; that's undeniably sensible.
