It’s the last game of the season so all players are now listed as out for the season

Chesser and Burgiel have both been removed from the list after recovering from their respective injuries

Andrew Gaff has retired and won’t be available to play

Glad the club has announced that, not Splinter Dick et al.
Would like to think Simmo wasn't happy with a Blistergate scenario, talking B.S to public/media, ala Nicnat injury.
Doesn't sound like a quick fix, so rest & patience required, by player & fans.

Why do I keep seeing people talking about Hewett's blisters?

It was an off hand comment made by Simpson in this press conference from a couple weeks back (skip to 2:45 and 3:40) but he talked at decent length about his foot issue and I thought it was fairly clear that that was the issue and his blisters were more of a minor setback.

"Elijah had blisters over the weekend, but he’s progressing well. He’s had a bit of a foot issue, it’s not holding him back too much but he’s missed a few weeks now so that’ll be a longer process."
"It’s not stress related, but there was the potential there could have been, so we just pulled him back a little bit and then I think he changed his boots last week. I think he was good to get into some drills today but that held him back a little bit."

Be interested to see if the club knew/took this into account when they drafted him.

I'm yet to hear of a player openly volunteering information about their injuries or suspected injuries heading into their draft year.

There's open secrets like Judd's shoulders and then there's other things such as this, that could be chalked up as niggles and can escape the scrutiny of general scans.

Pretty sure Cripps hid his diabetes diagnosis in the lead up to the draft.

Oh I get why Hewitt wouldn't declare it, just curious as to whether clubs did any digging as he seemed to have a bit of a drop off in his draft year production wise which now makes more sense.

Hopefully it works out as he slid and he becomes a star but I'd be a bit miffed as the club if a potential career threatening injury was kept from me.

I still like to tell myself that we were the reason he cooled his jets a bit pre-draft 🙃

Gotta hand it to the club

Their ability to find new and exotic injuries for players is unparalleled

Who had sesamoiditis on their bingo card

I’ve never heard of it
I'm glad to see them trying to get on it early, but I'm annoyed at their continual cloak and dagger stuff. Wasn't it just two weeks ago when Simmo said he only had blisters? The guy is a second year player in a wooden spoon team, it's not top secret if he has an injury.

Didn't Hewett have covid during his draft year?

Funnily enough, I read about this last week. Hopefully Hewitt can get the help he needs...
From the article;
Mason Wood from the St Kilda Football Club was constantly in shin splints before he met Mayes.

“And I had this basically dead toe hanging to the side,” Wood says, while stretching his foot at the bar against a heavy-duty resistance band.
“Three weeks later, the splints were off, I was out of orthopedics, and my top speed jumped.”

Hewitts already supposed to be a speedster at the club, this could turbo him to next level...
