Urquhart was WA's best on the day, his size and competitiveness was influential at stoppage and he was typically damaging with his penetrating right boot. He played 100% midfield in this game which is different to his typical role at Colts level where he rests in the forward line, and he did fade in the second half which coincided with the Allies getting on top of the territory battle.

GC Suns have 2 more academy stars to pick from, something has to give.
Champion kicked 2 goals, so he is definitely on the radar.
WA teams seem like they lose something in the selection process?
Our state is going backwards, but will the commission change anything?

It's bullshit isn't it

We should have the sane draft rules as the Northern academy's

Whilst Lombard made mince meat out of our midfield, I think Sam Marshall was the big standout (pun intended) out of the Allies versus WA game (and probably the SA game as well) - looks like he could be a really good tall rebounding defender and getting 27 disposals (many of them searching rebounding attacks, including a goal) was just a rock of the Allies team. If he is available at a pick in the teens then he would be a good get.

Urquhart's kicking is a bit unreliable at the moment but as I have said before there is the potential - his contested possession winning was excellent for someone who spends more time forward normally. He would be a decent pick in the 30s.

Academy draft was created to give local qld and nsw kids opportunity to play afl by keeping them in their home state . No need to do that for wa and sa as they are both afl states and kids choose afl first . They don’t care where they play unlike qld and nsw .

It’s not a problem if the Northern clubs pay the same price as everyone else.
It’s the point system, and the fact we don’t get academy players after pick 40
for a discount.
Allies team are now superior to WA teams, then you have a system where the northern clubs can pick anyone in Aus, yet we have to pick at the skeleton of
what’s left. You don’t play for the Allies unless aligned with these clubs.
We have around 4.3 million people in WA/SA and how many are born and bred?
Indigenous numbers are actually going down, so you can see why Jlo has started
to point out how difficult it is here and then you add travel.
Makes more sense to move to the Eastern States, and player retention or luring players here comes at a huge cost.

Reminds me of will Brodie with his kicking style and how unique he is with his handballs in tight contests

If the Chad stuff is real I can. Especially if Baker also happens.

If no Chad (or other gun players) coming in then we'll definitely have at least 1 I agree.
If Chad not this year, I can see one of 1sts being traded into next year so we have at least 3 to play with then as well (including 2026 F1)

Hopefully we get the NGA over the line then pick up a generational player a couple years later.
Want access to Zippy this year in the AFLW

Some WC nuffy was arguing (in the wrong thread so I left it) that he can't see how Freo trade for Warner next year if we don't get him this year.

I added it to the other bizarre WC nuffy interaction I've had recently saying Clark is no good and he wanted to get WC but they didn't want him because he has a terrible attitude
