I understand his point about you can't have everyone playing midfield and some have to play other roles. We have a lot of guys on our list who have probably played a lot of their footy in the midfield during their juniors, you can't play 10 in the middle and unfortunately some end up getting squeezed out into other roles.

But in saying all that, we need to see Dowling play in the middle at stages tonight. I don't think anyone is expecting him to get more CBA'S than Soligo or Dawson, but I think it's fair and responsible for him to get 3-4 CBA'S per quarter to let him show what he can do in there. Especially if we do get a nice lead in the 2nd half, Laird should be pushed back and let Dowling play majority in the middle.

Kelly wouldn't commit to him playing any midfield time at all which is ridiculous.

Yeah I think everyone gets the point, and that young midfielders often have to go forward early in their career.

Its just so frustrating when we aren't going well, Laird isn't getting the job done, and they still refuse to get a young midfielder in there.
