As a coach, you are not allowed to have favourites. You need to be making the hard calls, Simon wants to be a mate. You can't do that.

This is what, as coaches, Dimma, Clarko and Lethal were so good at. They set their training and playing standards to elite levels and if you couldn't keep up you were dropped. Simples.

You are a coach first and foremost, and, if all goes well and you win a lot of games including flags, then you can be mates. Its a rocky road to be sure but it has to be that way in order not to have complacency.

Watch commentators talk about how strong our midfield is and act surprised when we get towelled up in clearances and CP by a bunch of kids.

Don't remember what I was watching might have been the medallion club with llordo and Jimmy but one of em said north have a better midfield than us now and I agree.

I think our coach has lost the plot . In soccer terms it’s like having 7 CB’s in the team and wondering why you can’t score . Even if we fluke a win with his selections against North , won’t change my view Goodwin is nuts .

I'd say that's beyond doubt. LDU, Wardlaw, Simpkin, Powell, Sheezel is an excellent leading group, added to Xerri being a B+ ruck, plus role players like Phillips, Shiel, Tucker and Scott.

They leave us for dead even before Trac's injury. It was only a matter of time before they all gelled together and matured and it's happening now I think.
