Ken crying and us winning seems to have caused some angst.
What happened to playing the long game like as has been suggested to those coming out and criticising Tredders?
Like someone else said they’re not going to come out and sack him at 9-6. Even if we had a close loss today, they wouldn’t have sacked him.

I get it too but it was about him, not the club. That’s my criticism of it and him.

It's always about him. The same media scribes standing in his corner now are the very same media scribes who've historically hated Port Adelaide. It's disgusting, and f**k him, and f**k them all.

You don't think something along the lines of `I seen yous blokes been getting beat, and yous need me to sort it out' would have been impressive in an interview? ;)
Nah I think it was

"You remember most of all ... what gives them the right to say Pord Adalyd has nothin left?

Pord Adalyd - they god nuthin' left ta play for - BE STUFFED WE GOT NOTHIN LEFT TA PLAY FOR!!

GIMME THE JOB RIGGGHT NOOOOW!!! Riggght nooow."

I can accept and expect emotion, but you grow cold to it when they actively alienate the supporter base.

You win for the Port Adelaide Football Club & your people (THE SUPPORTERS), it's not about individuals particularly ones who have no interest in anything outside of an insular culture they've created.

Breaking into tears after a two point win over a bottom 4 side probably highlights how cooked he is though regardless of a tough week.
That's fine. Would have been a tough week. Your point is also entirely true. The fact that we are at a point where we needed to win to stay in the 8, after shitting the bed in our 2004 celebration game, after supposedly trading for our missing pieces, after a straight sets exit last season, after, after, after... And our coach is hanging by an emotional thread and the players response is to beat St Kilda by 2 points, when supposedly his arse was on the line... Look at where we are and where we have been for a few years now and ask yourselves as a club "wtf have we done?".

It's the chickens coming home to roost, of the ex-Gold Coast assistant I spoke to once.

Me: "Is this hillbilly actually smart enough to make it as an AFL coach?"

GC guy: "He's probably smart enough, but I don't know how he'll handle the pressure"

Well ... we've seen how he handles it, many times. Today was just the latest in a long line of episodes. Hopeully the series will be cancelled soon.

I agree with posters that are saying they were never going to sack him while we're in the 8.

The pass mark for this club is making finals. They've said it over and over again.

It's all downhill for Hinkley from here, beginning with the Dogs this week. I think we're probably looking at winning 2 out of the last 8 games and the scrutiny will be intense.

The media are in it for the story and it was about him from the get go. Having said that, Ken's had many opportunities over the years (pretty sad) to respond to those types of leading questions with "the boys do it for the jumper" or "they have pride in their club and we expect to win" or something along those lines but realistically, the strategy of leaning into this type of stuff is the reason there's this 'daddy' narrative and it's probably a big part of why he's still got a job.

We need more Sack Hinkley signs. We just fell in against a side that couldn't beat it's self, we must keep it up now not only when we lose.
Now that they jagged a win it is we. Pretty sure he referred to the players as they when he was throwing them under the bus after the Brisbane loss.
