That's just it though, at this point in time he doesn't. His approach to both the footy and the oppo players is definitely not as physical as Max and his one on one ability isn't in the same ballpark at this time.
Similar rangy build but not quite as tall as Max unless he's grown some since preseason measuring...more a running type Backman and no invite to even the State Draft Combine suggests he's not on too many AFL clubs radar at this point?
I suppose he could be a late call up to the State Combine which has happened with a few individuals that burnt up the latter part of the season/Finals but it's unlikely.

He does a full mock draft a couple of days before the actual draft, which is usually based on the intel he gets from clubs and players etc.
He usually pretty good with the top 10-15 most years.
This is just his rankings on players this year.

Just on Jack Michalanney if he was a rookie option why wouldn't we look at a best in class Tobie Travaglia for this type of player. Tobie has so many traits that scream a Will Day type career as a serious possibility.
Or why wouldn't we look at a Lachie Jaques who could possibly slip through to the late/rookie draft. Though probably not a pressing need with Oscar Ryan looking like he has a future, Jaques has had an outstanding year both for the Falcons and VC at the Nationals.

Because we like to use the rookie draft as a half way house.

Meaning what exactly, can you clarify?
We seem to have gone away from the old days of using the rookie list on players with potential, to now using it for players who have already been on the list, but we can't quite delist yet.

Lombard at 12 and Lindsay at 16 (who I’ve got at 1 and 7) is testament to the type of draft this is. Not a Reid/JHF type at the top, but so many really good prospects even past pick 10
