Footy is still a violent contact sport that has elements of a combat sport.
The rules are being dramatically changed to reduce the amount of chances players have to affect the game by injuring or plain hurting oppo players.
But X plays a role in stoppages where the combat part is most heightened and through his ability to lay those repeated bone jarring tackles is one of the few players who can still genuinely impact games by hurting oppo players within the rules.
