Went and had a look at Bright V Doon on Saturday, absolute cracking day and equally good game. Bright forfeited in the 2's as only about 7 made the long trek over. Disappointing indeed as Doon had a full quota. Atleast a scratch match was played to fill in the time.
1's was a good game, Bright...
Matt Spencer will be playing in the Ovens & Murray League (Albury/Wodonga Area). His wife is from Glenrowan.
Massive back page report on the Border Mail when he signed on.
Let's hope he can help the Saints break the 62 game losing streak
Geez maybe I mistook them for Tatong!!.
Plenty of numbers for the Mountain Men it would seem.
Brent Green on his way back up the Hume Hwy after playing for Olinda last year.
United were very impressive. Total Domination and with the Big Eagle up forward will give some of the top sides a real nudge. The guy is a unit and was beating 2 and 3 blokes at a time. Big Clint Edwards is a monster as well.
Dawes & Normington controlled the backline and repelled most...
Re: Ovens and Murray Part 3
Good news for the Saints with a couple of late signings before the season kicks off. Also good to see Steve Tolongs stay on after reportedly heading back to Sandringham.
Let's hope for them and the competition that they can begin to be competitive again.
Going to have a look first hand at the Big Eagle take on the Eagles on Saturday. Looks like match of the round for mine.
Jimmy O'Grady should be a handy pick up for Mansfield, was a integral part of Vermont's 3 peat a few years back.
Reading the Weekly times it looks like Tatong think they can finish mid table. Have picked up a local by the name of Andrew Harrison who apparently was on Richmond and Brisbane's list.
Chris Dunne. Drafted to North Melbourne in the late 90's but did a knee early on and then subsequently got delisted, moved onto Footscray but don't think played too many games. Was a class above in the B&D and will thrive in the improved O&K. Saved the blushes in 08 when he single handedly stole...
They are pretty optimistic about the upcoming season. There is a big step up from what they were playing previously but with the inclusion of some GV players from Mansfield and the Broady boys having played a higher level they should adjust ok. Having played O&K and watched a bit of the Doon...

Phil Maylin was quoted that he has signed on at Bundoora? or a club in one of the northern leagues.

I'd say the Doon will go well, should win a fair share of games and will be tough to beat at home. Look like keeping their list together and adding some former Mansfield players to their playing stocks will help also. Should win more than they lose
Great News for the Saints. Good result for the new board with all the hard yards that have been done, would seem the club is definately heading in the right direction.
I was in correctly informed on the above. They are going to remain as the Dogs but will wear a predominant Red Guernsey with White and a dogs emblem on there somewhere. Not sure how this will stack up against Tarra's.
Bomber Williamson is a good pick up for Milawa, an ideal replacement for Sims.
Word out of the Doon is that the Broady boys are back again and looking forward to playing in the O&K. Cooksey has brought half a dozen Mansfield players with him also, you would expect majority 2's but still GV's 2's is a decent standard. Expecting a competitive Doon in 2010.
Thankfully the...
Playing Coach of Mansfield 2's for the past couple of years. Generally plays out of the square. Would probably take some players with him.
Still not much word out of the Doon. My mail was that playing in the O&K would help retain more players than playing in the YVMDFL.
Steve Bozicevic the 1's. Rooter McKinnon the 2's. You would think Nutter is done at O&M level, but he's had 3 great seasons in the O&K and may want to have another crack. Straight swap for Ben Jones!
