PS RE the mythical etiquette between clubs when trading, the Swans screwed the Crows and the whole comp with the way they wrangled Tippet for a LATE pick in the PSD. Yet nobody put a ban on trading with them. They created an opportunity with dirty dealings and then they seized it without shame.
We will be in an impregnable position if he nominates us. Hold the PSD to their heads and then offer our second rounder tops. They will not take that because they refuse to admit that their players have devalued hugely because of the impending CAS case. So too bad for them.
All of the players...
No we don't and no we won't.
No need to tank. GWS will come out breathing fire. They have wall to wall talent. We have a poor team gutted by injury. Murphy is out. Wood is in.
Sleep soundly Farky.
The Leunberger compo pick, however, is a nightmare looming re Weitering.
CAS is hearing the case in November, verdict not known until Christmas or thereabouts, and then penalties decided after that. If we sign him before then we are leaping into the unknown. Lots of noise about backdating and no game time to be missed but this is baseless. Nobody knows how CAS will rule.
I think that was just suggested somewhere along the line but never came to pass.
The beautiful part of being able to get him in the PSD is that Essendon burnt all their bridges a long time ago and there would be no etiquette broken.
As a matter on interest, does anyone know if we are even...
Do a deal with Essendon? Fat hope. The Essendon board are talking two first rounders for Carlisle and the club probably will want Kreuzer as steak knives as well.
Most I would hand over would be the pick we get for Henderson. But I would much prefer PSD.
Also don't want to sell the farm and...
Whats great is that SOS has had a full season to judge the list, and a season of adversity and tension to boot, so he will have a good chance to know the mice from the men.
Gawd, I would love to see the whiteboards on the walls of the SOS war room. I bet there are names on the "Try to get"...
You could lash all the 40 foot poles on the planet together and even then no club would touch Hird with it.
But the old sewer rat is being paid to wean the faithful off the kool aid so he has to say things like that with a straight face.
No but he was worth every bit of what we gave up for Judd by way of a trade.
I am just not a fan of free agency at all. Would prefer some sort of independent arbitrators ruling on trades if a player wants to move and either club in the trade is being unreasonable in what they want to take or give.
Where did I say that? I'm saying that the Frawley vs Franklin picks show how flawed the system is, and the I don't think clubs who are not party to the deal should be penalised for it.
Do not like the fact that we lost a good player in Betts to it and got no return at all, the only club so far...
Buddy Franklin pick 19. James Frawley pick 3.
And why should the club getting the FA give up nothing while all the other clubs have their draft position weakened?
System is not fine by any stretch.
The attractiveness of a band 1 compo for MK could have decreased markedly now that it looks increasingly likely that Bribane will get one for Leuenberger. The player we had in mid for pick 2 is unlikely to be there at 4.
Still think we would be a chance to get one of the two kps at 3 as lions...
Me too. Think Bolton will want to hang on to all the talent he can. Got nothing to lose by seeing out his contract and having a crack. More sensible than taking unders.
Sound process, sound choice, sound method of employment.
Very pleased about this. Now need he and SOS to gel and get stuck in to the renovations.
They have a bit to work with and if we nail the draft and trade period we will go into next year on the up. Good thing is that we have had our...
A year and a half. Long time to be injured when you have already lost a season to a knee reco and there is the rub...handing out lucrative four year contracts to players with a history of injury, especially to feet. See Thomas, D.
Elephant in the room for mine in all the frothing over Kreuzers...
