I'd personally prefer the Blues to go after Worsfold as their Director of Coaching.

Premiership coach. Wrote the coaches course for the AFL. Track record of success wherever he's been.

I don't think he's much loved in this place.

Really? We should all jump on to Neil Craig because he's had a couple of good results years ago coaching Adelaide?

Since then he's been around when the players revolted in Adelaide, Melbourne and judging by their performances Essendon as well.

I'm not saying that he is responsible for these outcomes but he sure as hell can't claim to have prevented them. High risk - Not suitable!

The player 'revolt' at the Crows was a reaction to his hard-assed ways. The prima donnas got their way as they did with Sanderson, albeit Sando having other failings.
I wouldn't read too much into the outcomes at Melbourne (perennial basket case) or the Dons (insert WADA joke here); there are many reasons for their sub-par performances - but haven't heard anything about players revolting against him.
I didn't think Craig would turn out to be a successful AFL coach but his record at the Crows was pretty good in his first 5 seasons, with final appearances in all five, prelims in the first two.

So Hird escapes culpability...again?
FMD.
?

How does "there were things that weren't WADA's fault" = Hird not at fault? I meant precisely he WAS at fault.

Tl;dr - Craig hasn't been great and we'll be glad to see him go. Interpret that as y'all wish. LLAP.

I wasn't aware of that. Sounds like he'd prefer a senior coaching role anyway.

Shame, because the Worsfold / Camporeale (rookie coach) combination has worked pretty well for Adelaide this season.

Sorry, I obviously misunderstood you.

I just don't think Craig's done a good job at all. Our selections, gameplan, all of it has just been a shambles this year. Hirdy wasn't a great coach, however this year it's seemed 1000 times worse. The difference between 2011 to 2013, and this year? Craig overseeing and being in charge of everything. It's seemed as if there's been very little coherence between different areas of the coaching team.

Hell the only coach earning his money this year is Mark Neeld, he's in charge of development. He's been great.

WADA doesn't justify the bizarre selections and atrocious gameplan though. There were major issues you couldn't lay at the feet of WADA or the players.

My point was that it backs up my claim that Craig hasn't been very good at his job. Which was the discussion we were having.

Whats great is that SOS has had a full season to judge the list, and a season of adversity and tension to boot, so he will have a good chance to know the mice from the men.

Gawd, I would love to see the whiteboards on the walls of the SOS war room. I bet there are names on the "Try to get" section that would have us salivating. Chopping block and reasoning behind the choices there would also be very interesting.

Anyway, you can bet SOS and BB have had a good chat about the great big picture the former has painted there, and BB has his brush ready to collaborate on it.
I bet we have a massive list, no doubt SOS would have had contact with managers and know what quality youngsters are likely to be able to be moved and wouldn't suprise me if there are a few GWS ones on that list with his connections there. Also wouldn't surprise me if Bolton has very little to do with our recruiting, especially this year. I always got the impression that at Hawthorn people's roles weren't too heavily interfered with, I think Bolton will know our plan, I mean you wouldn't want to come to a club that's looking to go in the wrong direction, I'm sure he'll back SOS in to do his job and more or less stay out of the way which appears to be the modern way of doing things.

Sam Maclure just mentioned on radio that carlton are interested in Rhys Palmer

There was thought that GWS wouldn't be able to keep paying Palmer the premium after his original signing and move, though this may have been last year (not sure he he's had another contract since the original). Has been a solid performer up forward of late but age should be a negative.

Some people who know the inner sanctum going ons at the club said Sam Power who currently works at the club would be a good fit for McKay's role if he is moved on (fingers crossed).

Is that the Sam Power, younger brother of Luke?
