Since we are back playing again if there is no representative games can you still put that down to Covid? Is there any appetite for representative football anymore?
If you think the VAFA is a true amateur league you are wrong. You can’t tell me that all of the ex AFL and top players come to play for the love of the game/club and get no financial benefit at all.
It depends on how much you lost the gf by, if you lose by a few points then you deserve to go up and have a go at the next level. If you lose by a country mile then you wouldn’t want to go up, however; that can determine what type of club you are. Crack in and don’t give up each game you earn...
That is a given since all the best players in those regions are being offered scholarships. The management and selection of players at the Cannons has been an issue for a number of years now. As for the Jets the demographic of their selection area has changed to where AFL is not the preferred...
Not to hard to work out who you are talking about, if you have had a bit to do with and follow the metro side. I agree with you and I believe Ian Kyte derailed the Cannons. Sandringham and Oakleigh are the teams to beat these days whereas, in early years 2000 to 2010 the Cannons were the team to...
What is the issue of offering them work, VAFA clubs have been offering people this type of “you can’t get paid in the amateurs “ deal for years. You can’t tell me everyone plays for the love of the jumper or the club.
When I was living over that way EDS were the power club. EDS need to find a way to make it back to the top, within the points and salary caps (unlike some others). They have had some good players come out of there so how do they get them back. Dale Morris for one and past coaches with ties to...
If a player wants to improve yes they should be trying to play at the highest standard they can. I’m sure with his brother playing for the AFL side he could of arranged for a trial. Was he playing for EK when he was selected for Essendon VFL, or did he try out for them between seasons?
Some guys don’t want to train hard and have the dedication it takes to play premier division level football, that is why they are happy to play thirds.
Can you imagine to scores of some of those games. Ten to twelve teams in a competition is optimal for playing each other twice. Makes it hard...
No insinuating about it, ex AFL players aren’t going to play VAFA just for the love of the game when they can still earn a few extra dollars in country and suburban leagues.
Congratulations to Monash for their win today, certainly the best team all year. Congratulations to Old Geelong as well on a great year and a strong performance today.
