Average post. Developing nicely, still working on his decision making, but once he gets a better feel for the speed of the game, will be a 150 plus player.
I saw Stringer play VFL last year and was not impressed and think i posted that he would not make it.
Lessen, never judge a player on the first time you see them. Schroder can play, was nervous and didnt get much space. Will be better for the run and well done Scotty for blooding him. Will...
Re. Mackie No - they kicked 2-3 goals from GWS players breaking his tackles today. I thought he was solid otherwise but he needs to be harder than that.
In the first half there was alot of space for the gws forwards with little midfield pressure. That cant be blamed on Mack.
In saying...
"One thing that has concerned me a bit and was prevalent in the first half was our inability to make tackles stick. Mackie is a serial offender but it happened consistently in the first half."
I thought Mack battled on well today and is easy to single out.
Re: Round 10 Geelong vs GWS Simonds Stadium
Jeeze we are missing wojo and trav. Cannot wait for those 2 to play with motlop. Could be the spark we need to rekindle the flame. Feeling flat we are.
Re: Round 10 Geelong vs GWS Simonds Stadium
Stokes is in horrid form and cannot see him playing next week. Will takes some balls for Scott to drop him but plenty of excuses with the cattle to come back in.
Re: Round 10 Geelong vs GWS Simonds Stadium
Senior players stood up, Jimmy, Kel, Stevie J and Harry. Would have been nicer if Dunc, THUHT, Guthrie and co did abit more but happy with the points. Hard to get into game once heard about Menz and i wonder how this affected the young guys.
Think we need a thread counting/predicting the amount of times commentators refer to Jimmy as the "Norm Smith" medalist.
I predict:
a) 3 references per home/away game;
b) 4 per standard final; and
c) 8 per grand final.
Also for each game Guthrie plays, I predict 2 references to the former...
Did anyone else like how he crashed in low to Daisy Thomas i think in the 3rd quarter? He gave away a free but boy was it a statement of intent, showed alot of passion for GFC in that one act.
Worst case, he plays a few games in the VFL, we ask him to leave/pay out his base level 1 year contract. I really cannot see him breaking down the club as seems to be suggested.
Best case, he plays a defining role in a premiership.
Others may disagree, but I see us dropping off in 2013 once...
Who says no one wants to play with him. Its a football club, they are footballers, he is a pretty good one (abit you disagree). 2012 is a huge year for the club. Its a point of contention whether he is worth the risk. Your posts do not reflect or seem to understand this.
Even if that is the case, put him on rookie list, and dont use him unless either he plays the house down in the VFL or we have long term injuries. Insurance for a very important season.
I do not disagree with any of that. However i do think that we are in a unique window where ever stone must be turned over. I can safely say i have not seen Lovett play the majority of his games, but the games i did see, he seemed to shine. Granted that was some time ago and probably muddied by...
My final point is just because the club is not on record as supporting does not mean the discussions are not being undertaken. Its good business, keep it away from the media. All i am saying is im sure the cats are dicussing this matter, just like we are. I would be disappointed if Cook and Co...
That is fine and i tend to agree, but the way some posters describe their opinion seems to suggest there is no room for debate. There is debate going on internally about Lovett, of that I am sure.
Im with the Bob, who thought we would get the Pod then the Big O. Geelong does tend to suprise.
The current list are no angels. Mistakes have been made by many, including 2 norm smith medalists.
If the player voted for Lovett, id accept him.
If our culture is so strong then the club should be able to control the individual. I would not be disappointed if we went after either, but i just think Lovett in particular could be the type who could really propel us to another premiership.
I would take either Lovett or Fev as a rookie. Both on last shot. Make it clear no second chance/no warnings etc. We have a chance to be the greatest ever football team in 2012, no stone should be left untouched.
Ezra Bray, Spriggs, Charles Gardiner, Daniel Foster, Cameron Thurley.
He does miss, just less than most. His key was he started picking footballers rather than athletes, but i think most have caught up with this now.
Perhaps Geelong should delist this new crop now then. Every team is happy now, well bar Melbourne:p But thanks for your assessment. I think i will back the guy who has delivered 3 very very recent premierships:)
