Not Worth A Thread - Random Bulldog Discussion

I reckon that you have the three above correct and agree with you that it's a tough ask for the 4th I reckon that the place mat is connected to the Bulldogs' finals appearances in the mid 70's [Waverley Park is featured] Although the kicking style reminds me of Thorpe he was at Richmond by then...

    Injury 2020 Injuries

Haven't heard anything, but that's the point - not on modified program, haven't seen him on the track, hasn't been mentioned in dispatches - at this time of the year if your not on the track doing something - you're injured

I like it! Mind you it could be explained by the need to move goal posts/square location to avoid excessive wear? Rumour has it that they only realized the mistake after the boundary umpire had run into the point post a couple of times!

Also the council guys are pretty liberal with the markings of the boundary - reckon they pick the guy with the worst hangover to re-mark the boundary each week. Hedge - We actually sub contract our line marker guys out - Here's an example of their earlier work - this time at Hampton Rovers!

HaHa - not at all. Love and Hate are two sides of the same coin! Some will hate Williamstown others will love them - it's all a matter of personal perception;)

You actually ask other clubs their opinion of Williamstown or do they seek you out to tell you?

    List Mgmt. 2019 Draft Prospects

If Cal Twomey's Player assessments are anywhere near accurate, then the player the Bulldogs should have a real good look at is young De Koning - if he could translate his claimed attributes to senior level we'd have our own version of Brisbane's Harris Andrews!

    Injury 2019 Injuries

Deja vu - Dale Morris' injury mirrors that of last year almost to the day - major tear not a complete rupture - which holds the hope of a return later in the season. Let's hope so because Dale deserves to go out on his terms rather than as a result of an injury suffered at training.

Prediction Ben Cavarra will kick more goals this year than Jake Stringer

He Certainly knows where the goals are and doesn't mind a tackle or two - at this early stage he's not doing his case any harm at all!

    Prediction Changes vs Port

Out -I reckon that there will be 1-2 more forced changes than we expect. In - English for one of the ruckmen, Bonte and probably Greene

What They're Saying - The Bulldogs Media Thread - Part 2

My apologies B St. - Ian 'Rat' Bryant did play for KYMCA U/16's in 1954 as a 12 yo - but only for the one year! Due to financial problems the KYMCA junior side was taken over by the Footscray & Yarraville Socials the following year. Ian continued on with the F & Y's U/16's and U/18's up until...

What They're Saying - The Bulldogs Media Thread - Part 2

Don't think so B S - Ian Bryant played for F&Y Socials [the same club Peter Welsh and Ted Whitten Jnr, played for]. He had perhaps even finished his Bulldog days before Kingsville YMCA started up.

Opinion "The goals will take care of themselves"

Fitness of Redpath / Cloke / Boyd and Dickson is key determinant for the extra goal a game that we need. If we can keep these guys on the park they will generate the additional scoring capacity that we undoubtedly need. Up the other end I would expect the addition of Trengove and Crozier plus...

    The Ride and The Outsiders

Reckon that the Outsiders would be a walk up start for a Moonlight Cinema outdoor showing at the Whitten Oval one summer night in the New Year. Strategy Trade and List .Management thread 5 (...the post coitus cigarette. Edition)

Handy addition - adds some reliability to defensive talls and a capable back to a thin ruck options. I'd be exploring possibilities with Brisbane around Stefan Martin - we need a bit more grunt from our big guys!

    Preview Bulldogs vs Brisbane

    The difference - Hipworth does not play in the ruck - physically the most demanding position on the ground. Nearly all ruck contests are predictable [especially now there is no third man up] and generally are determined by the physical attributes of the combatants {reach, strength,technique}
