The Ride and The Outsiders

I went on Friday night, our whole cinema erupted in applause at Bont's goal in the prelim and Picko's goal in the GF. It was awesome, they did a great job.

Interestingly had a burger in grill'd beforehand and Stringer walked in with his new squeeze, you could hear the hush go over the whole restaurant, it was about 30 mins later that the article in the Sun came out

Are you for real???!!!!!

One thing at least, didn't someone else say that all the boys were upstairs at the Railway Hotel that night? At least it seems they are still united as one - ?

Watching The Ride now again and seeing the Outsiders tomorrow. Actually really sad seeing the Stringer scene with his family and him saying that after 2-3 years he’s all about the club and it’s a club he would want to stay at for the rest of his life. Looked so happy with his family too. It’s a huge shame things have turned this way for him and us.

Saw the film tonight. It was very good. Terry Wheeler is a mad man, I love him, a true Bulldog.

Saw it yesterday too. I loved the fact that Terry Wheeler was part of it as a link to the era we nearly died.He was the Beveridge of that time that lifted our team from despair, made us competitive, got us to a Prelim........just hope the current story doesn’t end the same way as Terry gone two years later

The finals run in the doco had me in tears again! And the Bob/Mitch reactions? Wow! We really are an emotional club aren’t we? Kind of makes you understand why the Stringer mess has made such an impact. And maybe why we don’t sustain success?!

Saw it today. Fantastic viewing. Recommend highly to all Bulldogs supporters but also any AFL fans or Western Suburban people.
Really good and has a happy ending.

I havent been able to get over that way to see it on the big screen however I've ordered my copy.

I did get to go and see Pearl Jam "let's play too" last night which is a concert doco shot in August 2016 at Wrigley Field following the Cubs (Eddie Vedder is a huge fan) during their drought breaking run. The feels are exactly the same, the emotion of the fans and their heartache of years and years.

I don't closely follow the baseball, or the Premier League or NBA, but I think I've found my ball team now Chicago1!

F**k it I'm going to jump in the car and go NOW. 10:10am showing. I've got to go to Altona to pick up some bloody thing the missus bought off gumtree so may as well.

Welcome to the Cubs family! Someday hopefully you'll be able to visit the "friendly confines of Wrigley Field".

What a beaut cinema and great little suburb yarraville is. I forgot how much I like it. Real village feel.

Cried several times. I hope we get the real Libba back.

The best part was Bob talking about the moment when Bev handed him the medal. “It wasn’t just for me it was for all the injured players ... Redpath...Jong...Prudden...and for John Schulz”

I didn’t enjoy the moment back then, I felt it was a bit too Hollywood. But when Bob frames it like that, a symbolic medal for all the Bulldogs players who never got the chance - it makes sense.

I'll have to get over there next week if I can. Unfortunately I fell in my doctor's parking lot on Monday and hit my forehead on the concrete. Just bruising, but it looks pretty bad. Will see how I feel next week. Not too difficult to get there by public transport from Keilor East. Haven't been to Yarraville for forty years, when I used to go to Eagles matches there.

Yep we missed the Libba that was involved in A LOT of key moments in that Finals series.

Hope you're feeling better.

You should have gone to the BnF - Crossy was there! :hearts:

Thanks. Wish I could have gone just to catch up with Crossy. Haven't felt too bad the past two days. However, my forehead looks like I've been an extra on Chicago Med. I need new glasses too.

Reckon that the Outsiders would be a walk up start for a Moonlight Cinema outdoor showing at the Whitten Oval one summer night in the New Year.
It would go close to re-creating that wonderful feeling of togetherness felt by doggies supporters watching the direct coverage of the 2016 GF and would be a great lead in to the 2018 season - what do you reckon?
