Why do I get the feeling u know who we’re targeting?
And that we didn’t move all the way up to 3 without a plan to take a certain kid (and get a pick in before certain other teams)?
I reckon Labor will be gone by 3. Hope we take Draper as fills an urgent need for us. The there’s the possibility of dangling pick three out there for any other club to come in with a ridiculous offer (especially SA clubs after Draper - how much would Port love to nab him before Crows?)
Great young prospect - never developed as he should've. What would he cost in terms of picks? Or could the Hawks deal be about us giving up a later pick (rd 3+) rather than delisting him for no return?
So just to recap (cant be bothered reading all negative posts):
We're getting Houston
Possibly getting Trac
Likely getting Rachele
Taking Pink 11 to the draft
Delisting deadwood and list cloggers
Picking up some super talented juniors from other clubs
That about it?
What example did delisting Stocker set for the rest of the players? That he didn’t fit the mould of a typical footballer? Didn’t gel with the group? Ruffled the feathers of the coaching staff?
FWIW, I feel with the outs (Setters & Stocker especially), we are light on for depth. Relying on the...
What would a player like Harmes cost us in terms of picks etc? Or would we just look to on-trade whatever we’d get for Dow or Setters?
I like the idea of what Harmes brings to the team but not sure where he fits other than a Newnes replacement (fit, versatile, hard body, mature head etc)
Apparently a real leader, both on field and off. Hard at it, solid body and a real competitor.
Could be a good addition to our young kids and those striving to make our best 22.
Prefer Boyd as our number 1 lockdown small defender.
Owies' effort would be up there but his disposal out of the backline would make me super nervous (whereas Boyd's sharp disposal is one of his weapons).
Where's the rumour about Stocker being moved on?
I'd be seriously pissed. He's had a crap run with injuries and brings something different to our team.
Not your stock-standard HBF.
Let him get fit in the off-season and give the kid a chance. If he left, he'd probably end up at a team like...
Completely agree - he was always a top 5 pick that year. Not like we plucked him from the 20-40 range.
Why he hasn't progressed as planned/intended/expected? That's something we can debate...
Keeping in mind we're not going for A-grade mids/stars, who are the players we could potentially look at to fill out our team?
Assuming mid-age range (mature bodies, experienced enough, but not at the end of their careers, fill a specific need and/or bring something else to our team or line...
From a Crows mate:
A few years ago was tracking to be one of the top wingmen in the league.
Can kick sharply and accurately on both feet.
There was initially a knock on his fitness, but worked his butt off to rectify and can run all day.
Dad played for Blues, grew up a Blues fan and entire...
If there's any one trait we need more of at our club, it's definitely junk yard dog.
We've been perceived (and rightly so) as a "nice" team for way too long.
You're wrong.
It's a D+ at best
"Overpaid for Cerra who has no stand-out traits"
"Unfathomable 4-year deal for Hewitt who is a borderline best-22 player"
"Let SPS go for nix, after he was the most talented kid in his draft. Would've blossomed anywhere else but the Blues"
"Picked up Young...
