I don’t know why the Bombers of all teams are antsy about lists being weakened and posters being nabbed, they have shown no regard for that over the past 5-10 seasons. Rules for thee, not for me.

I think only the Bombers have 3 potentially going to the Old Boys under dubious circumstances whereby they only have to mention “retiring” before they can be picked up and not counted under the suggested limits on how many can be drafted at one time from a current club.

But there’s a principle at play here and we’d appreciate it if other teams who want something valuable to us, could respect that.

FFS you're a lazy unimaginative campaigner...

1) for the Furies to move to their next step, I made the decision that I needed to move on. I had been talking to turbo about my thoughts, and thats when he told me about his plan. Given I was looking to reposition my persona, this looked like a great opportunity to do it, so i agreed to sign on.

2) I see the old boys as a fresh concept in the league. yes we have a few toffy clubs already, but a big part of the old boys is recognizing and honoring the history of sweet. TBH most clubs barely recognize where we play, and i see this club even though its new may be a good way of reversing this.

3) U2tigers changed my position on expansion in the last debate. for all the time we spoke, the one thing he mentioned which has stuck with me is "this is a fantasy competition. if the club fails, so what? a club that didnt exist in a competition that doesnt exist disappears. if it works, great, but if it doesnt what is the cost". so the risk of expansion is bugger all. add to that posting is up, activity is up, and frankly people are unhappy doing that and being stuck in a back pocket. more clubs means more banter, more rivalries, and more drama

Assertions that the Bombers playing list is threatened are presenting now, is a knock-on effect of WaynesWorld19 promising a 2nd Bombers team would be entered into the league but then was uncontactable while the prophesy run aground. Now that an actual new team is arising where the seeds of a Bombers MkII return to the earth, with a strength so robust that even Jabba73 said its weaknesses lies in the fact it is strong(link), many Bombers are finding something makes them wince whenever there is mention of "replace a struggling team".

It's a fantasy competition mate-- not the F**** AFL.

A few of your team mates want a new opportunity and have given you 6 months warning that they intend to leave, they don't owe you or your club anything.
If your LG & club decides to vote against expansion in the hope that they stay, then you're not thinking about what's best for the league or for the posters involved.

Either the Bombers are one of the "weaker clubs" that are currently being discussed, or they'll happily let some of their veteran posters experience a new challenge and continue to enjoy the SFA.
