Each team now apparently has to post their own posting stats fortnightly in their match threads , not for engagement , but to assess the health of the league.

Wise words. Couldn’t have put it better myself . When there’s homework it becomes less fun.

One reason I love Vegas is because I have always felt a freedom to post as much or as little, and more importantly about anything that I want to whilst still feeling valued. A culture where diversity and fun are celebrated but we still have an identity.

Round 2 was a showdown between our fearless team and the reigning premiers, the Bombers, at the Stadium in the Sky. The game kicked off with a bang as Broken sent the ball soaring through the posts for the first goal of the match. He wasn't finished there, adding two more to his tally in a dominant first quarter. Both teams were firing on all cylinders, with seven shots at goal each, but the Bombers' accuracy proved to be the difference, as they took a ten point lead into the quarter time break.

The second quarter saw the Bears ramp up their efforts, raining shots down on the Bomber's goal. Despite their best efforts, the Bears could only manage one goal from their six chances, while the Bombers capitalized on their limited chances, adding two more goals to their lead. The third quarter was a see-saw battle, with both sides kicking three goals each, leaving the Bears trailing by 18 points as they headed into the final break.

But the Bears were far from done. In his milestone 400th game, Shadow Man stepped up to the plate, kicking his first goal as a Bear and igniting the team's comeback efforts. 4cunningTonneTruck joined the fray, kicking his first goal as a Bear and narrowing the gap to just one goal. With Broken's fifth goal of the game, the scores were level, and when Matera92 kicked his third goal, the Bears found themselves in the lead for the first time since the opening quarter, with eight minutes left on the clock.

The Bombers, however, proved why they were the reigning premiers. With two quick goals, they regained the lead. Art Vandelay_ brought the margin back down to 6 points with a late goal, but the final siren sounded before the Bears could score again. Despite the heart-breaking loss, the fans left the arena buzzing with excitement, as they witnessed a thrilling match filled with skill, determination, and non-stop drama.

4cunningTonneTruck, Cap, Electronic_Renaissance, Millky95, RonnieRaven, Shadow Man and Supersuns all had big games picking up 20 plus possessions for the game. Broken, Matera92 and Art Vandelay_ all kicked multiple goals.

kane249 & RookiePick picked up the first donut games for the season.

Congratulations to Shadow Man who played his 400th SFA game on the weekend and Cap who played his 100th game for the Bears.

Posting this against my better judgement to comply with the new admin rules

We know posting stats don’t tell anywhere close to the full story and don’t at all reflect all-important quality or context . Each and every one of your contributions is genuinely valued. Having said that, 22 and then 21 posters in the first 2 weeks is outstanding for our club and a sign of depth, class and diversity. I couldn’t be more proud.

Special shout-outs to tony and Senor M for unselfishly doing the team thing and sitting out onfield due to controversy and injury but being as present as ever in the thread.

The Bears faced off against the Dragons in our first away game for the season. The odds were in our favour as we took to the field without the pressure of playing for any milestone players. And they didn't disappoint.

The electrifying Electronic_Renaissance kicked off the game with a goal, but the Dragons fought back with two quick goals of their own. However, the Bears refused to back down, scoring the next three goals of the quarter to take a 2 goal lead heading into the first break.

The second quarter was dominated by the Bears' veterans. The trio of Art Vandelay_, Jezmiester40, and Matera92 combined for an awe-inspiring five goals, leaving the Dragons in the dust. With a 44 point lead at halftime, the Bears were in a commanding position.

With Broken struggling at full forward, who only had one goal to his name at halftime, the coach brought on RookiePick who took the game by storm. He kicked five of the Bears' six goals in the second half, extinguishing any hope of a Dragons comeback. The Bears coasted to a to a 53 point victory, cementing their position in second place on the ladder.

Supersuns continued to shine, putting on a dominant performance with 28 possessions and 10 marks. Cap was a force in the ruck, with 23 possessions, 10 hitouts, and 2 goals. Shadow Man's moved from the Furies is reaping dividends for both player and club with a reinvigorated Shadow Man running circles around his younger opponents on the wing amassing a lazy 23 possessions. Jezmiester40 move forward this weekend paid off handsomely with Jez having his best game for the season with a 15 possession, 8 Mark, 2 goal game.

The Bears' defence were back to their stingy best only giving up 9 goals for the day. It was a complete team effort that secured this impressive victory for the Bears.

Off field, we had another week of 21 posters contributing in the match thread. It is great to see so many Bears active and engaging with the opposition.

For our Round 4 encounter we were off to Coney Island to play the Warriors. For the 1st time this season we conceded the first goal of the game but Electronic_Renaissance was able to get the goal back quickly. Rookie RonnieRaven then showed his claws by kicking not one, but two goals, his first 2 goals of his career to inspire his fellow Bears to take control of the game. We went on to dominate the first quarter with 8.7 goals and take a strong 6 goal lead into the 1st break.

The second quarter saw the Bears trading goals with the Warriors, but we still managed to maintain a comfortable 34 point lead going into half time. Now we have seen this before, a strong first half before falling in a heap in second half so we couldn't take our lead for granted and when we kicked 5 straight points in the opening part of the 3rd quarter we were expecting the Warriors to capitalise on our inaccuracy, thankfully Electronic_Renaissance came to the rescue and finally slotted the first goal of the quarter which broke the Warriors spirit and any hope of a comeback. With a 42 lead going into the last quarter, the Bears headed to pub to get in a few drinks before getting onto the plane for the trip back to Las Vegas. The Warriors took advantage and were able to cut the margin down to 18 points when the final siren went. If it wasn't for inaccuracy the margin would have been a lot larger, but the Bears took the 4 points home to Las Vegas.

Cap has cemented himself as the premier ruckman in the competition with a monster match, 14 hitouts, 29 touches and 3 goals. Jezmiester40's move forward has again paid dividends with 19 touches and 3 goals. Rookie enforcer RonnieRaven went around belting his opposition giving away a large number of free kicks but picked up 26 touches and 3 goals, with a 4th goal not counted as it was after the siren. Millky95 26 touches & Supersuns 23 touches both continued their good seasons. Electronic_Renaissance, Muddiemoose and MWPP were all able to also pick up 20 plus touches as well. If not for inaccuracy Broken could have had a huge game instead he only kicked 3 goals from his 9 shots at goal.

This leaves us 2nd on the ladder with a game against the 6th placed Gumbies coming up this week.





Donuts from both Art Vandelay_ & Matera92 this week leaves them both stranded on 6 goals apiece, but Art had an excuse as he was shifted back to shore up the defence and Matera just had a shocker, his aim was so bad that he wouldn't have hit water if he fell out of a boat, let alone kick a goal.

Matera92 and Art Vandelay_ clearly on notice with Senor M not far away from a return. Rurour has it the captain has arranged a mud pit for Matera and Gero to get it on.

Its back, we are off and racing again. We have a couple of debutants running this week, can any of them cause an upset or will experience win out.

Just pick a horse and hope it comes either 1st or last and you are a winner. New Players are welcome and start off with $1000.

1 Rookie Camel Kenneyswarriors is making his debut, we know nothing about him, but his born to race.
2 Chipmunk is the joke runner of the race, his form is shocking finishing either 4th or 5th in his 3 races, always tries just enough at the end of the race to avoid finishing last and screws his backers.
3 Dingster is on debut but its Dingster, he is good at everything he does.
4 Supersuns is racing for the first time and will be out to beat his arch rival Zevon at all costs.
5 Zevon has the best form going into this race, finishing 1st and 3rd in his previous 2 races.
6 hotchilli's form has been a mixed bag with a last and a 2nd place finish, but is in the no 6 position, which has provided a win for punters in 3 of the 4 races so far.

A couple of people went bankrupt after the last race but our dear friend kananooks was nice enough to donate some of his winnings to those people, so everyone is back on at least $1000
