It’s hardly groundbreaking cricket. Attack when you have the initiative and the pitch is doing nothing and fall back when things aren’t going your way or the pitch is playing up. It’s cricket 101.

I’m not going to get in a big back and forth about this, everyone is entitled to their own view on it, but they have already done it on seaming and bowler friendly pitches and it’s worked.

No it isn't. Take for example, smith plays a ball back to the bowler, and tracking shows it's hitting the stumps. File that one away for the next appeal. Done.

I think it's clear to anyone that they're playing with a different level of intent to any previous team. That doesn't mean they also can't stop and occasionally play the situation at times when needed as they have done on several occasions.

The old "Oh let's wait for X then it won't work" from the whiners who can't accept that it's working is getting boring now..
