[/QUOTE]I hear that the Sauce trade will probably get done as opposed to any deal involving Hammer. This is the likely scenario:

Jacobs & Pick 18 > Crows
Sellar, Pick 14 & Pick ~28 > Blues

We lose Sauce, gain Sellar, upgrade Pick 18 for 14 & get the Bock Pick (about 28). This would give us Picks 14, 28 & 36, I think. :D
Actually think this trade is just about on the money. Please if you disagree, apologies- yes I've already read the other 14000 evaluations.

Sounds decent.
If that's the deal though, not sure how Andrew Walker will get to the Crows? This makes me happy.

Im likeing the news BRIZZY BLUE,

If this does happen and we get the compensation pick has it been announced that it is pick 28 or? and will that pick be for this years draft?

If we do get a compensation pick, do we get to choose the year that we take it in? Or does it make it compulsory to take it this year?

Could work in our favour if we are able to take it in a few years rather than this year.

Good question. Can it definitely be traded?

You'd assume we can use it whenever and just state at the start of the year we'd like to use it.

However then couldn't say a team like Essendon trade for Adelaide's pick and then use it at pick 1 or 2 when they finish bottom again?

My understanding is that Compensation Picks can be used in the year of issue, used in following years draft or traded with the benefits attached so that the tradee club can make the choice. No one is certain what the Crows pick is exactly atm. Guessing it is about 28.

Found this in a little article on the AFL site...

"But any clubs hoping to take top-10 draft selections away from the Suns look set to be disappointed."Trade week is not a major part of our (recruiting) strategy," Gold Coast chief executive Travis Auld told AAP. ...The Suns continue to be linked with disgruntled Brisbane Lion Jared Brennan, although... the enigmatic forward seems more likely to join a Melbourne-based club."

Thought it carries a little significance...

Hi guys,

I got some updated info this afternoon on 2 of our players who have asked to be traded and 1 unhappy Lion.

I hear that T-Birds manager has threatened that he will not to go to the B & F tomorrow night, unless he can be assured of a trade. Considering the report that he has just had an op, didn’t think he would be going anyway. I know what I would do, but that would cause more dramas with him. (a) Tell him to piss off until the preseason, where he will be training with the Bullies. He won’t be considered for senior selection. He will just have to honour the contract. (b) Trade him to any club that will take him, just to get him off the list. On a serious note, the Hawks are supposedly still interested, but there is not much currency now.
Thanks for that. :thumbsu:

Sounds too good to be true.

Would take that even if it means we have to take Sellar for two years.

Carlton took Cloke and Johnson, so Sellar would be more appealing than these two.
I am told that the club rate Sherman very highly and they believe that he would compliment the engine room very well. Whether he is used off half back or in the hi diddle diddle, remains to be seen. The lions have to lose either Brennan or Sherman. Still not sure how we can get him to Royal Pde, but I reckon the Taswegian would be better value to our structure even if he is a loony. The Juddmeister would soon sort him out.
No to Sherman.

We did well to get Henderson and Lucas last year, so we shouldn't do the Lions any favours by relieving the pressure on their salary cap.

Keep the picks and look for fresh blood by drafting players who are mature.

No headcases or prima donnas.

I'd rather keep Walker than bring in Sherman.

Pardon my French, but same shit, different bucket with these two.

Sherman would be a better fit for the Dogs who are equally flaky.

No, because the AFL ripped us off with Bock and classified him Band 3, which means the pick happens at the conclusion of the first round and before priorities, whereas immediately after your existing first round pick is Band 2 - even if you hold onto it until after the drafts where the GC and GWS have 8 first round picks each, the lowest our compensation pick can ever be is 19.

To do like you said, Essendon would need to be trading with a club for a Band 2 pick, and there is never going to be a Band 2 pick - with Ablett going for the super special Band 1 they created just for him, there is nobody else worth a Band 2 if Bock is considered Band 3.

Also, yes it can be traded, and yes the receiving club has the same amount of remaining time to use the pick.

Agreed. Win win, and a chance at a decent big bloke in the draft. Maybe Sellar isn't that shite either. Maybe. Ok, he's probably shite.

Good posting Brizzie.
Yeah, the more I think about it the more I like it. How close is it to happening Brizzy Blue or anyone else who knows?

I should get some updates on 1AW and Grigga tomorrow. My info on these 2 comes from the same source, but he is interstate till tonight.

Thorton is starting to be a little too much like FEV, without the ability to win games. If this is indeed true, he needs to be moved on. Now.

I we can get the above deal for Sauce, what does that leave the Crows left with to deal for Walker?

Geez, my source is hot. Now his prediction about the Suns and Krakouer and that Hawthorn were still interested in T-Bird prove correct.

Hammer > Suns - Krakouer > Blues

I heard just yesterday they are considering grabbing the Swan Districts star as he is a former AFL player and they can list him straight away, but the intention is he could be used to secure the services of the right contracted player by trade. They haven’t yet announced any experienced Ruckmen. Hammer would be perfect for them.

I don't doubt your source, but I could have predicted the Krakouer developments from watching him in the WAFL this year.......I don't see the club giving up Hampson for a 27-28yo small forward-mid though
