Re: Round 9 Trades

If this is an upgrade after next week, I would get Ablett. No byes mean an extra round of scoring over everybody else, and if you got say Murphy, then you would be hit hard in round 13-Coll bye and round 23-Carl bye, with 2 gun midfielders out plus forwards/defenders I assume.

Mundy as well you should look at.

My options:
1) Thompson -> Puopolo, Swallow -> Swan/Mundy.
Leaves me with 68 400k, then next week I can do Matera -> Lynch (a trade most will do) then Pittard -> Dal Santo/Pavlich - hopefully.

2) Matera -> I.Smith/Mzungu and Swallow -> Swan/Mundy.
Then do Tapscott -> Lynch and Pittard -> Dal Santo/Pavlich

4) Swallow -> Hodge

Leaning towards 2 or 3

Could someone please suggest which one they would do? thanks

I would choose #2. I'm not a fan of #3, mainly because I can't see it...

Re: Round 9 Trades

liam_13, Lynch and I.Smith are both on the bubble arent they? Why not do the 2 downgrade trades this week and then do the 2 upgrades next week? Would save a bit of money rather than getting in say Lynch next week when he has risen a bit. Swan and Pav would be the 2 premiums i'd choose though. If not, could always do I.Smith or Lynch (depending on which you prefer) this week and then Mzungu next week (if he plays this week) when he's had a week under his belt and you've had the chance to see him.

Re: Round 9 Trades

Curnow > I. Smith
Swallow > Boyd

Can anyone talk me out of doing this?

Midfield would then be:
Swan, Pendlebury, Judd, Selwood, Boyd, Harris (Liberatore, Smith, Bewick)

Re: Round 9 Trades

What are peoples thoughts on Jobe? Is it worth holding on to him then having to get rid of him rd24 or are people just giving him the flick now? I'm thinking of going Jobe to Hodge(underpriced and looked pretty injury free) and toy to suckling(underprice aswell and rekon he's gunna be a keeper) or any other options u guys can think of, I'm open to almost anything, I've got 250k in the bank, cheers

The GC have a bye this week so you can hold off on the Lynch downgrade.

Re: Round 9 Trades

Hmm intersting, I had nearly sold myself on Priddis although now I'm not sure :p

Back your own instinct mate..

Nothing wrong with Priddis, it's just in my situation, I'm required to stick to the norm and the proven players especially when the price is the same.

Depending on your situation, a POD could be required...

I don't want to sway you for or against Priddis....

No Hodge love at all in here. I guess everyone doubts his ability to knock out 120's for the rest of the year.

There is a lot of love for Hodge from me, especially at his price and the fact that the Hawks are in the finals.... I think the concern is because Hodge can play at various positions and sometimes will play in the interest of the Hawks FC rather than SC/DT..and there is always concerns on him being injury prone (rightly or wrongly).

TBH - I am really considering Hodge due to price or Boyd and M.Murphy... Ablett is slowly slipping out of my radar...but I'm scared not to have Ablett too...ROFL..I'm also scared to have Ablett...

Re: Round 9 Trades

Ive got 166k in the bank.

This week im going

Lower-> suckling
Matera-> lynch

next week

Swallow-> ablett

leaving me a midfield of

Swan, Judd, Mundy, Goddard, Ablett, Foley. (krackeour, libba, jacobs)

Personally I wouldn't pick him. He did have a great game 198 pts and has a low b.e but the 2 games before that he scored under 100. And he's not playing for geelong anymore so he wont be able to get easy points everyweek.

I think you'd be safer and get better value with boyd,pendles or pridis.

Re: Round 9 Trades

Only thing is i may not be able to afford those guys come next week. Ablett has the bye so i know his price wont change, but yeah i can see next week and see who is affordable.

Ablett pros - not much of a preseason means getting fitter with every game

-gold coast impoving
-shows he can still pull out big scores
-cheap for g.ablett

Cons
-gold coast getting pumped
-limited preseason
-always seems to miss a few with injury

Re: Round 9 Trades

im thinking duigan < puopolo and then tapscott < fyfe

is this a good move?

Achilles heal injuries are notoriously hard to recover from.

Re: Round 9 Trades

already got smith, pav, goodes, buddy, chappy.

looks like fyfe it is???? but will puopolo play???

Have you thought about Okeefe? He's a fair bit cheaper, I guess the question is can he maintain his form from the last couple of weeks.

Haha don't worry mate I do like to second guess myself quite a bit. I'm tossing up between him and Hodge(planning on Gaz next week). Hodge just worries me with his injury and I can see him getting rested a couple of times throughout the year to manage it.. While the Eagles seemed to be playing really good footy which should help Priddis' scoring. In saying all of that I still might go with Hodgey :p

nah already got goodes and have been burnt by rok in the past.....

think I'm going to fyfe this week and put him in the forward line.... i dont trust sylvia's form to continue.....
