The Rob Kerr analysis has finally arrived - you can expect to see it online today.

It came in at 4,300 words, so required a bit of editing before it could be posted.

That said, it's still very detailed and will provide some great reading for those who have the time (I recommend you read till the very end).

Dr Kerr strikes me as one of those people who finished an assignment, then spent 3 days chopping it back to fit it inside the word limit!

I am looking forward to see Kerrs right up! Top work LI thanks for keeping us updated

Yes, please pass on my thanks too LI. For him to spend the time writing such a large document during his busiest time of year demonstrates that he truly considers the fans a stakeholder of his. I don't know if this can be said of many other list managers in the league.

The final version is now ready to go and will appear in it's entirety on lions.com.au around lunchtime.

In the meantime, here are a few little teasers...

About Kurt Tippett...
"Even though the deal between Sydney and Adelaide progressed slowly, we didn’t feel we were any chance of re-entering the fray. However - that all changed in the final week of the trade period when it became apparent that a deal was unlikely to be achieved. We believed that we could achieve a trade and made both Adelaide and Kurt’s management aware of this."

About trade rumours...
"A number of names were linked to the club during the trade period and I can provide readers with the following information. The only players we seriously considered were Stefan Martin, Luke Delaney and Jesse White."

About the upcoming AFL National Draft...
"It appears to me that unlike 2010 and 2011, there is a greater divergence of opinion amongst clubs as to the relative merits of this draft cohort. Some of the selections that have been speculated in the media and online also support that view. Therefore, it may well be that on November 22 there are a few surprises."

Stay tuned for more on lions.com.au shortly...

I take it then we didn't actually make an offer for Dawes, which was reported as fact in a couple of places.

Has Rob been reading BigFooty LI? :)

Rob Kerr said:
With respect to the key forward, it is a fact that quality key forwards are rare beasts. As one of our recruiters outlined, there are about 12 genuinely good ones in the world, and the rest are either hopefuls developing or are not going to make it. To test this theory, supporters should list the number of quality key forwards in the AFL
An excellent point.

This is so interesting. Love that we went after Hogan. Shame GC ruined it by not bidding for Viney. We better beat them twice next year.

It does make Melbourne look especially stupid for giving up 3 and 13 if we were the second highest bidder with only pick 8. We wouldn't have got close to outbidding Melbourne.

8+24.

As always, a great look into the mind of Kerr and the on goings of the club during trade week. Good to see not one reference to Post, looks like another UTG special.

Interesting finish, saying what many on here have been saying lately about the draft. Even the top 10 doesn't seem as clear cut as it has been in previous years, lots of different opinions and should be some surprise selections come draft day.

Great insight and loved reading it.

Absoloutley spewing about the hogan deal falling through, considering he had agreed to come. We should have slipped him a few $ on the side and told him to underperform. :p but from gws perspective 3 & 13 is a lot more attractive than 8 & 24.

Would also loved to know more about the swap for 12 & 14 for 8 and 24. Really would have known what the options that gws were putting forward. Maybe 12 and a player?
