The Eagles are a good chance to trade 6 for 10 and 27 from Collingwood. Would allow them to get Yeo with the later pick.
collingwood with pick 6 would be the most likely club to take Freeman before us I feel, they would back themselves to develop him into a superstar, WCE get Yeo with 27 and Sheed potentially still available at 10 so they win too. I hope that trade doesnt happen to be honest... still at least one of freeman, sheed or crouch available at pick 9 would be fine with me

1. Boyd
2. Kelly
3. Aish
4. Scharenberg

Will likely be the order, it seems. St Kilda may bite for Billings, so push the next two down. I'm confident that 6-9 will be made up of Freeman, Crouch, Sheed (and McDonald).

Freeman I know nothing about, but if the club want him I do too. Sheed was my preference for pick 2, and if Matt Crouch is anything like his brother we're onto a winner.

Crouch + Viney = our inside mids for the next decade.

I want to take another inside tough mid this year, so guys like Toumpas, Barry etc can come into the team and play outside roles while they develop physically and mentally.

Chances are that we will still be in the bottom 4 next year, we can get a runner then.

Has been a positive period, particularly compared to last year.

good trade guys, Tyson (if injury free) is a quality youngster who has a lot of class and poise, will go a long way to strengthening that midfield. its a very even draft this year from picks 5-15 so you should get something decent with pick 9, lets just hope you draft well

Tyson and the Toump will be out genuine A-graders in the next few years. Now hopefully Pick 9 can net us another A-grader and the engine room looks pretty good!!!
What do you consider an A grader ? is Marc Murphy/Bryce Gibbs A Grade or do you reserve that for top 10 in the comp. Toumpas and Tyson havn't done anything yet so that's a big call.

Dom Tyson is a seriously talented player! Very happy to land him.

We DEFINITELY still need to get Vince and/or Cross to add experience because (to borrow a Bailey cliche) we're going to get slaughtered if we think a bunch of kids with < 50 games experience can carry the load.

As for pick 9: I think we take no risks this year and take a no-frills, blue-collared midfielder. I'd say that's Crouch or Dunstan but I don't really know. Richmond have had success with a similar approach (Vlaustin, Ellis, Conca).

Part of me is happy we won't use pick 2 on a skinny kid actually (although knowing our luck Aish/Kelly will go on to become the greatest players to have ever played the game).

Dom Tyson and pick 9 for Sam Blease and pick 2
Bernie Vince and and Lyons for 2nd rounder (Sylvia compo pick)
Viv Michie for 3rd Rounder
Daniel Cross as delisted FA.
Draft Matt Crouch or Luke Dunstan with pick 9

If this all came to fruition we'd have a midfield consisting of N. Jones, Vince, Cross, Trengove, Viney, Tyson, Crouch, Toumpas, Michie in 2014. (I've tried to list them from best to worst)

Of course most of this probs won't happen and it's purely based on speculation in the media, but it's not too far fetched!!!

Not blowing my own trumpet but I put this proposal forward 7 days ago! Looks like most of it will come to fruition!

I need to tell Paul Roos and Josh Mahoney to stop stealing my ideas.

Thought this was a good, albeit slightly risky deal.

Get Cross and Vince and it'll look like a really good trade period for us though (No doubt Barrett will rank us a 3/10 or some bullshit).

(No doubt Barrett will rank us a 3/10 or some bullshit).

Not sure why anyone cares what this guy thinks. He's a rubbish footy journo whose opinion on anything football holds as much as weight as you, me, the entire BigFooty community and the guy who sits behind the goals abusing the umpires every week.

He's a nobody trying to be a somebody.

Draft/trade time is usually when we get most excited; then round 1 comes around and it all disappears. Hopefully it won't happen this time!
Draft time (October) = Melbournes time to shine
Round one (March) = Crash and burn

other way round, GWS got a bargain and Melbourne wasted a #2 pick

You're an idiot.
They got a player which was pick 3 in 2011 and has had 2 full pre seasons under his belt. They went from a pick 2 without any AFL experience to 3 with 2 seasons of experience. They also had their other two picks upgraded.

Come back when you have some AFL knowledge, and until then, please refrain from posting your stupidity.

Based on what? The inclusion of pick 20? Tyson being no good? Unless you're trolling (in which case GTFO), i'd like to know why you think it was such a poor deal.

Let us not feed the troll anymore. Mods...get onto it.
